SE SOTD, Friday August 30th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Romulus SE 316 SSP head with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mild to tame med range. Excellent design, machining and finish QC. Small head parts make for a nimble shave and a joy to use when assembled. If a person wants a more aggressive razor just use the Feather super blades or use a shim of around 4-6/1000 of a inch works well also.
One of my favorite SE razors(I was using the Yaqi Excalibur for years and enjoyed that one also but it is not as smooth as the Romulus design IMO. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Kai Titian captain mild (5) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity in the Romulus razor.
Soap : Razorock M.F croap. Nice scented soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Moka express" 26mm Timberwolf synthetic(odd trial knot I bought,Lucky me!) Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. One of my favorite 26mm synthetic brushes.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock M.F with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus with a Kai C.T.M.P blade.(It would be hard to get a better shave this morning for myself!)

The Jeeves of Hudson Street Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #457 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher Razor and the Personna PTFE SE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Sunday SOTD, September, 2024

Razor : Yaqi SE Excalibur AC type with a Yaqi Milano 316SSP handle. Mfg 2021>, mild to tame mid range. Simple clamping system + small head parts make great for a nimble shave. Have been using this razor for a few years now and it performs good enough for my shaving needs. It seems to work well (riding the cap) but works riding the bar also if a person needs to know.
Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Schick proline AC 50mm type(6) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock Lavender, nice scented soap with excellent lather qualities!(obsolete now)
Brush : Yaqi "Sagrada Familia" 22mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Great small handled brush with a excellent knot IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave :Razorock King Louis lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur with a Schick proline blade.
