Sunday Shave, OCtober 13th 2024

Razor : Gem Micromatic OC .Mfg 1930- 41, mid to upper mid range. Excellent machining + metal stamping for that time era. The Micromatic OC is one of the more aggressive Gem razors variants in my opinion. I do receive excellent results usually with a light touch has been my experiences over the years. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (8) very sharp, smooths out nicely, excellent longevity, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Lavender, nice rich scent of lavender + excellent lather qualities. One of my favorite lavender soaps(obsolete!).
Brush : Yaqi "Purple haze" 24mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber, excellent lather painter. Nice handle and knot for my shave needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem Micromatic OC with a coated Gem blade.

Monday 14th October
Ever Ready 1907 Lather Catcher + GEM Stainless #9 + Jayaruh 289 Timber Wolf + Signature Soaps Novus Spice + Electrif's Bay Rum v3 + Aloe Vera Gel
Novus Spice has become my new current favourite Soap both in performance and scent. It often takes me back to around 2015 when James Riley (OSP) released his original Spice Road prototype which was given to some testers.

 

This was a great shave.

 

I'm back. Internet is working again. We have weathered the storm well in North Cackalaky. We are on high ground and only lost two trees. Down the hill from us four homes washed away and many were flooded. Three men lost their lives along with their homes because they refused to evacuate.

I shaved this morning with Proraso Green and my Roger Quintero Schick inspired injector razor. I used my Jayaruh #461 synthetic brush to face lather the Proraso. I finished off with Duru Lemon Cologne. I am clean, smooth and refreshed.

 

MMMonday, OCtober 14th 2024

Razor : Gem Micromatic OC (bumpless variant)+ all brass. Mfg 1930-32, mid range to upper mid range. Really nice shave this morning using the (Rigs shim) to mock the thicker blade splines prior to 1932 Gem blades to help smooth out the shave.
Blade : Gem personna SS PTFE(9) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Lavender(obsolete), very nice lavender scent with excellent lather qualities
Brush : Yaqi"Bali" 24mm 3band silvertip badger. Excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. It sure bloomed on 1st cleaning and just put a smile on my face when I saw this transform(it is how they pack tie the knot to bloom(chubby looking), works well for my shave needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=(Aum tested) Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Gem Micromatic OC(bumpless) with a coated Gem blade.

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP SE 50mm with a Yaqi Chippendale 316SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range depending on AC blades or gap shim used. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : KAI Captain titan mild (2) sharp and smooth.Top tier blade in 50mm AC type.
Soap : Tabac puck. Flowery scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Sagrada Familia" 22mm synthetic. Great little brush.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock (AKA=Italian Barber) Amici with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SE with a Kai CTMP blade.
