Razor : Ever-Ready 1924(AKA- Shovel head). Mfg 1924-33, mid range. It works well and was very popular because the length of production run, I like to use a Rigs shim in this razor for great smooother results.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(8) Very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock The Dead Sea croap, very enjoyable scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Bali" 24mm 3band badger. Nice badger brush with a large bloom(Cubby).
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock The Dead Sea splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Ever-Ready 1924 shovelhead with a coated Gem blade. My Ever-Readys are slightly more aggressive (Mid range) than most of my Gem Razors, not complaining just observing.

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP open comb SE with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2024>, mid range with a fresh Feather blade Yaqi provided (I like Kai CTMP blades better). The razor performed well and has slightly more blade feel than the Yaqi Romulus straight bar variant IMO.
Blade : Feather AC (1) very sharp with reason longevity. Whiskers did not stand a chance!
Soap : Razorock The Deep Sea , very nice sharp clean unique scent that is addictive + has excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Mysterious space" 24mm Timber wolf knot. Excellent knot and handle for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock The Dead Sea with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + 2 small weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my New Yaqi Romulus OC razor with a Feather blade.

SE SOTD, Thursday, January 16th 2025. #3 consecutive daily shave with my Romulus OC razor.

Razor : Yaqi Romulus OC 316 SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2024>, tame mid to mid range>. Excellent machining, outside finish is excellent with machine marks on inside to keep accuracy is my understanding. Very difficult head to machine because of its small parts.
Blade : Feather Professional (3) very sharp and starting to smooth out a little on 3rd use.
Soap : Yaqi Musketeer Rapier croap , very nice fragranced soap that is addictive + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Lucky dice" 26mm brown whiskers synthetic fan knot. I lucked buying this very small testing batch years ago.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : (Alum tested- not much sting indication at all), witch hazel cleanse +Yaqi Musketeer Rapier splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus OC with a Feather professional blade. Great shave this morning!

Razor : (L) Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP straight bar(SB) with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range. Excellent machining, finish and design for some great nimble shaving.Great daily driver IMO
Razor : (R) Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP open comb(OC) with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2024>, tame mid to mid range. Excellent machining , finish and design for some great nimble shaving. Great razor for every other day or possibly a daily driver for course beards. I could use it as a daily driver using Kai or Schick proline blades. Feather blades are very sharp. Using a Kai Protouch blade(guarded type) would easily make it a daily driver for almost anyone IMO.
Blade : (L Romulus SB)Kai Captain Titian mild pink(1) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. Best blade for my Romulus razors.
Blade : (R Romulus OC) Kai Captain Titian mild pink(1) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. Preferred blade for my Romulus razors.
Soap : Tailor of old bond street (TOBS) Sandalwood cream. Richly scented herbal soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Moka express" 24mm synthetic. Very enjoyable brush to use.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: ( Alum tested with no stings on either both sides of my face)Ogallala Bay Rum & sandalwood + a dollop of Geo F Trumper skin food.
Results: (L Romulus SB) or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SB bar razor with a Kai CTMP blade.
Results : (R Romulus OC) or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers = Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Romulus OC razor + Kai CTMP
Conclusion: Both variants of the Romulus razor are excellent for my shaving needs and the open comb has slightly more blade feel IMO. Both have given myself some great shaves. They perform well and will be used a lot in my razor rotation. Both razors could be used as daily drivers with the proper blade selection.

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP head with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2024>, tame mid range to mid range depending on blades used. Excellent machining, finish and design. Open comb fives a little more blade feel than the The Romulus straight bar variant.
Blade : Kai Captain Titian mild pink(7) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. Using up some shaves from a old blade that has some life left in it.
Soap : TOBS herbal sandalwood, nice scented soap with some of the best lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "barber pole" 24mm 2band badger. Excellent brush for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel soap residual beard cleanse + Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandal wood + a dollop of Geo F Trumper sandalwood skin food.
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SE razor with a Kai CTMP blade.
