Injector and SE Shaves

Razor: Yaqi V2 Excalibur, AC 50mm- Mfg 2021, nice mid range, easy to find sweet spot, good design, easy to self align blade.
Blade: Feather Professional (3) sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity. AC 50mm Blades are pricier than Gem SS PTFE blades per shave.
Soap: Colonel Conk Bayrum, (old version) nice mild scented Bayrum with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 24 mm Timberwolf whiskers, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrub, great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. Skin enjoys cold water rinses, it seems to calm the skin IMO.
Post shave: Witch hazel skin cleansing + Ogallala Bayrum with Sandalwood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer balm( great stuff + scentless.)
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + blemish weeper = Excellent shave with my Yaqi V2 Excalibur with a Feather Pro.

Another Razor I have neglected, spending too much time on long trials of new additions.Hard to explain just how good the Type F feels in the hand, a joy to Shave with and a quality Shave can be attained, takes a bit longer than with other Razors.

The Palmolive Shave Cream lathered well with Jayaruh #414 Silvertip Badger. Two passes and touch ups with the GEM OC Damaskeene with a Personna GEM SS PTFE gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Great looking razor I'm not totally up on Shave Terms, I know BBS but not CCS and the only DFS I know Graham Kirkham owns

 

CCS= Close Comfortable shave, DFS= Darn Fine shave, BBS = Baby butt smooth, CCS is just slightly less close than DFS, DFS is just slightly less than a BBS. Some fellows also have other names for a very smooth shave like Dolphin skin smooth finish..... it took me a while to figure out these abbreviations also.

I’ve always understood BBS to mean no signs of stubble WTG, XTG, or ATG, DFS no signs of stubble WTG or XTG, CCS no signs of stubble WTG.

BDBS - Baby Dolphin Butt Smooth - well, that’s reserved for when technical terms don’t do it justice I think @Billyfergie may be responsible for that one

 

This Personna Floating Head is a favorite. The floating head is more than a gimmick and makes a difference - paired with a twin blade it provides a fantastic shave

Quite amazing how well this Razor Shaves, really was one of the early Travel Razors. Got a Top clash finish, apart from around chin tip where I may have been wary of mishap.

Sunday Schick shave, OCtober 3rd 2021

Razor: Schick injector i2 with hydro magic- Mfg 1954-57, tame mid range, nice features on this model, nice handle for maneuvering around the face.
Blade: Personna injector SS PTFE(10) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable.
Soap: Razorock Irish Country side, unique mild scent + excellent lather qualities. Nice creamy texture from this one.
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow 26mm brown whiskers, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock Emperor(knock off of Creed Aventis) with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe Moisturizer balm (HA + scentless=excellent)
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Schick i2 injector with hydro-magic with a Personna SS PTFE blade.
