My first shave with my recently acquired Schick F. I loaded a Personna 74. Vintage Williams and a new Zenith Boar lathered up quite well and a splash of which hazel and Aqua Velva took care of the rest.

In January of 2017, I got I think five samples from Jeeves of Hudson Street (Conservatory, Cranberry Pomegranate, Velvet Jacket, Turkish Bath, and Private Study). I ended up pressing them into an old deodorant container. Jeeves has since then gone out of business, but my Jeeves Shave Stick is going strong. It is a good soap. Here is today's shave. It is my 44th shave with Jeeves.

SE SOTD, Fri, 4th 2022

Razor: Yaqi V2 Excalibur AC 50mm-Mfg 2021> tame mid range, great blade clamping design, small head design, easy to work the face & carefree shaving. I use a wash cloth underneath to assemble small head parts and blade. I seem to get great shaves mostly so it is part of my permanent rotation.
Blade: Feather Pro(6) sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap: Gillette Pure cream, nice clean mild scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi red Zebra 26mm knot excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle scrubber, excellent painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the clean beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Pinaud Clubman with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my Yaqi V2 Excalibur with a AC Feather Pro.

Just a short review: I had the blade shimmed from the top, but it was too mild for me. I then shimmed the blade from the bottom, and that made a difference. Got a very nice DFS shave, but it took a little finesse to trim around my goatee.

Though it looks a bit of a bruiser, once in the hand during a Shave it is surprisingly agile. In fact handled with due care it delivers rather excellent close Shaves, which are up there with the best.

I had a wonderful shave today with a newly acquired Gem Minute Man and two of my new brushes with OUMO knots. I was easily SAS after the first pass and nearly BBS while still being quite comfortable. The two new brushes performed well after just a bit of a wash. The handles are exceptionally comfortable to use. I think the Boar will needs a bit more of a break in period before it's at peak performance. The horse was a bit of a surprise and performed perfectly right out of the gate. Both knots only shed a few hairs in the initial washing and maybe one or two more during actual use. The Boar had nearly Zero funk after the first cleansing lather while the horse had quite a lot of dirty lather coming out until the third cleansing lather and rinse. Even after the actual shave the horse retained a bit of funk, although it is minimal. This horse is a blend of mane and tail and had reasonable back bone and a little skritch. The Boar had more backbone and less skritch. Overall I'm extremely pleased with both brushes and the Gem Minute Man and really look forward to how the Boar will break in over time.
