I had a fantastic shave with my Pat. 1900 Kampfe Bros Star today. The mixed badger boar brush performed quite well with Wickham Irish Fern.

 

MMMonday, Feb28th 2022

Razor: Micromatic (MMOC)- Mfg 1930-41, great mid range, open comb + built to last. I get excellent shaves from the MMOC.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(10)- very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Razorock blue barber- mid range scent + excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Mew knot purple haze handle, excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle scrub, excellent lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock blue barber AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=Excellent shave with my MMOC with a coated Gem blade.

Superb Tabacstag
This is the 8th shave on this blade and it is still butter smooth and efficient. I tried the Supply aftershave for the first time and it feels nice. It has a subtle scent of lavender and leaves my skin feeling good.

I had a fantastic shave with the Henckels Rapide razor today. Such a wonderful razor. This soap has an intoxicating scent, and leathers very well. The patina is looking lovely on the Zenith Boar.

Razor Redemption, after one of my worst ever Shaves, a fresh blade made this Raster work as it should. This Shave was the polar opposite of yesterday’s being smooth comfortable with a good close all round finish.

DE SOTD, Thursday, Mar 3rd 2022. Theme week, modified shave gear. This old Valet auto-strop looked good on Ebay and needed some tender loving care to put it back into service, the blade on the right of the picture needed repair, the gap was altered from 11/1000 to 7/1000 of a inch to smooth out my shave and a Gem blade needed to be modified to get the old jewel back to my standard of shave. Interesting razor and can be very smooth when gap is very small but time has had many hands fiddle with it and change it young & old folks.


Razor: Valet Auto-strop model C1, Canadian Variant- Mfg 1920's, excellent razor for its time of using carbon blades, nice razor to use when mastered & used with a shallow angle like a straight razor. Its like going back in time not that long ago when safety razors were in their golden years.
Soap: Cyril R Salter Indian Sandal wood, nice mid range scent of sandal wood + excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm orbital ring boar, excellent lather generator, soft split end bristles, nice scrubber + great painter.
Blade: Modified Gem Personna SS PTFE(3) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Ogallala Bayrum & sandal wood.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=excellent shave with my Valet auto-strop with a modified Gem blade.

I used two 3D printed Razors today designed by Roger Quintero. He has many great designs available on thingiverse. The black and red one is the Raptor V2. It is inspired by the Henckels Rapides razor. I only used this one a little today because I think the blade I loaded was on its last shave. The blue and white one is just refered to as the injector right now. It performed exceptionally well.

 

Friday 4th March
