Busy day yesterday officiating, tired and a bit sunburnt.A lovely Shave yesterday, so smooth yet efficient.This Razor/Blade combo is a winner for me.

Razor : Gem Damaskeene 1912 open comb- Mfg 1912-15, nice tame mid range. This is the 1st model that all other 1912 models for many decades was based from with minor improvements as time and new models of the 1912 came out, excellent shave this morning. Very lucky to find this model up here in Northern, Alberta Canada. Very rare find indeed.
Blade :Gem Personna SS PTFE(1) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable .
Soap :Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore, nice vanilla scent with a light Tabaco scent + excellent lather qualities.
Brush :Yaqi Moka 24mm synthetic, Excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle scrubber + excellent painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave :Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + minor irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Gem 1912 Damaskeene OC with a coated Gem blade.

Today's injector was my Dad's razor. He made the wooden handle for it back in the 60s sometime.

Tue 12 th April

Used a Feather Pro in my Hawk V3 -A Plate for the first time. Beginning to like it as performs very well for me in this Razor and my Claymore Evolution.






Wed 13th April

Used the Occams Enoch with a Kai Pink Blade , and it was a great Shave as I brought out my rather neglected De Vergulde soap.I had forgotten just how good a lather it produces.

Razor : Star bar #4model- Mfg 1919-20, nice mid range, my favorite lather catcher of 3 LC's and was well built, joy to own & use.
Not many modern razors can match this one for performance and audio feed back IMO.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (2) excellent blade, very Sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap : Italian barber Amici, nice grape fruit citrus scent + excellent lather qualities.(discontinued)
Brush :Yaqi 22mm 2band badger Sagrada Familia, excellent lather generator, soft pillow like tips, great scrubber + excellent lather painter.( one of favorite of 8 badgers)
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Italian barber Amici with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=excellent shave with my Star bar #4 model with a coated Gem blade.

Great shave this morning with the Schick type I Hydro-magic. The Zenith Boar whipped up a great lather of the Novelist.

SE SOTD, April 15th 2022

Razor :Yaqi v2 Excalibur AC 50mm,Mfg 2021> great design, good entry razor to the AC 50mm SE razors, I get excellent shaves from this razor consistently, joy to use and affordable. Top cap needs to be manually adjusted for alignment no big deal.
Blade :Schick proline P30, great AC blade, sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap :Yaqi Musketeer rapier, very interesting scent and appealing to this nose + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi 24mm High mountain HD silvertip, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice scrub, excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi Musketeer rapier AS(great scent) with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 weeper= Excellent shave with my Yaqi V2 Excalibur with a Schick proline P30.

Using little used soaps makes me realise what I am missing, A nice Shave with the Arran Aromatics Bay Citra, wth The Occams Oren on a waning blade.

Sunday Schick shave, April 17th 2022

Razor :Schick golden 500 injector with hydro magic, Mfg 1957-64, mild range, unisex razor possibly with long handle, longest razor I own 5 3/8 inches, interesting razor and easy to clean.
Blade: Personna SS PTFE(3) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap :Ach Brito Lavanda, nice mild scent of Lavanda + excellent lather qualities.
Brush :Yaqi 24mm Mysterious space synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrub + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavanda with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 nick(operator error)2 blemish weepers= great shave with my Schick golden 500 injector with a Personna coated blade.
