SE SOTD, Friday, July 15th 2022

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur AC 50mm- Mfg 2021> tame mid range, good design for clamping, small head parts, I seem to get great shaves from this razor consistently. Good daily driver for some folks.
Blade : Schick Proline p30 50mm injector(2), sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Speick, nice mild spicy scent, with excellent lather qualities. Completed 1st stick of soap.
Brush : Yaqi Tailcoat 24mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great scrubber, excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Pinaud Clubman AS + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=Excellent shave with my Yaqi Excalibur with a Schick p30 50mm blade.

I had an excellent shave today with the Henckels Rapides Razor. I purchased it from Jayaruh. He made the custom box for it when it was in his collection. As many of you know he also makes fantastic brushes which I have admired for some time now. Well now I finally own one, the JR 433. This brush is big. It's got a 30mm knot and the handle feels fantastic in hand. It's made of Patagonian Rosewood. I picked vintage Williams today to round out the connection since it is one of his favorites and he has the twin to the wood and stained glass Williams mug topper I made. Oh and as usual Aqua Velva is the perfect finishing touch to a Williams shave.

For someone with a tough beard this Razor/Blade combo is surprisingly good, very comfortable yet efficient. I can work away and get rid of even the most stubborn areas of growth, without threat of mishap or post Shave irritation, no need for any post shave applications either. The new Razor handle
makes the it more agile and a treat to hold and work with.

ASRazor shave, Tuesday July19th 2022

Razor : Ever-Ready 2nd Generation Streamline -Mfg 1949-53, excellent upper mid range & designed well for it's time line, it is a heavy duty eye candy razor if you like ASR razors IMO with a Gem blade. ER Streamliner will deliver excellent shaves with a mature technique. I like to use a spent spline flattened to raise the back of blade like thicker older blades for this time line.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(6) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap : Razorock Santa Marie del Fiore, nice vanilla scent with some light tobacco scent. I like this scent more than the aftershave.
Brush : Yaqi black Marble 24mm Silvertip badger, excellent lather generator, heavenly pillow like soft tips, gentle scrubber + excellent lather painter. This brush has a beautiful spray and it is not hard to reach small areas of the face at all, I was surprized!
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Santa Marie del Fiore + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Ever-ready Streamline 2nd Gen with a coated Gem blade.
