Okay. The G type I just got in the mail doesn't quite match the description for a G. It has the round spring and flaps like an E and a plastic handle with a seam like a G. It has patent 1937 and Made in Canada on the head. I think this makes it an E2. It also came in a maroon and clear plastic case, which I believe is for G type. Anyway, its a damn fine shaver. I like it, but its going to take a while get used to using an injector.
It won't take that long. I think the learning curve is actually shorter than for a DE. At least that was the case for me. Give it a few days and you'll probably be surprised how quick you get the hang of it.
We need pics....is there one line or 2 lines of Pat.Nos....? You'll be surprised how fast you'll get the hang...just put it flat on your face and don't be trying to find the angle...the angle is built in...thats one of the beauties of the Schick Injectors....
There's no patent number at all, it just says, "Patent 1937" and Made in Canada" on the underside. The area around the rivet says Eversharp Schick and there's a seam running down the middle of the handle. Here's a couple of pictures: Sorry about the poor quality pics. You should be able to see the round spring and the flaps. From what I read on http://www.safetyrazors.net/schick/schicktech.htm it is either an E2 after the spring changed from flat to round or a G because of the plastic, seamed handle. Another site that I cannot find again says that the ones marked "Patent 1937, Made in Canada" were E2's.
Hey, that looks good. I would say it is a G. Eversharp bought the rights for the razor in 1946 and used the name Eversharp-Schick.

Yep, I think that was the missing article I had seen. My razor is identical to the one pictured there. It's still kinda ambiguous though. Either way I have a nice shaver and I'm happy with it regardless of what type it is.
I love the hydro magic, but the injector blades are not as widely available as SE blades. The gem G Bar is a fairly inexpensive SE razor that is mild and easy to use. The SE blades can be purchased at Walgreens or CVS.
You can find the injector blades in American drug stores on occasion. Plenty on Amazon and better yet buy Ted Pellas, more blades for less money.
Yeah, you can definitely find the injector blades online. I have not found any in drug stores in Phoenix. I actually got a bunch from an online vendor, and they worked great in my hydro magic.
Ted Pellas come 20 to an injector as opposed to 7 and are pretty cheap and last a good while for me compared to the Schicks. All are good though.
