I remember using it when I first started shaving. It wasn't too bad.

I wonder when they stopped making it. Must be 8-9 years ago.

Just received my Lathere Catcher from a most generous friend, from across the street.
It has a custom brush, a GEM Jr. Lather Catcher PAL bladesand Colgate soap.
Will do my Sunday shave with it.
I expect nothing short of perfection from it.
    Will post photos afterwards.

I was thinking about busting g out the Williams, but this time I'll take my chances ces with the brick.
I'm gonna go with the Colgate.
It just wouldn't be the same without it.
    Stay tuned for the video.

Firstly it is made in Canada , circa 1941. Came in a blue box with black blade dispenser which I have been told were issued to Canadian Forces - blue being for Navy.

    Sun 8th April

    RazoRock Syn 22mm
    L`Occitane Cade soap
    Schick "O"- Clone
    Schick Japanese Twin [ 5 ]
    Pitralon Polar A/S Lotion

Very hard to describe how easy it is to Shave with this Combo. With the Cade providing a great lather, the Shave was so smooth and easy in every area with not the slightest hint of pulling as is is quite usual at some stage of a Shave. I just cannot imagine how anyone could get it wrong with this so easy to Shave Razor. I would imagine that most of the Originals are still lurking in the Bathrooms of Japanese Gentlemen. Still have not checked my stock of blades, must limit my use of them to the best performers like this one and the N3.
As a matter of interest the Shave was great, with a face stroking finish.

A very relaxed Sunday Morning shave, my skin's feeling smooth and hydrated.
First time with Wickham's PSB, and I like it a lot, absorbs quickly, smells great and feels good.
    Have a great Sunday.

    Gem 1907 Lather Catcher
    Original Gem Cutlery SE
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Lucky Tiger

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Sterling Lime Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #277 silvertip badger brush. I did two passes with the Gem 1907 Lather Catcher Razor using an Original Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Blue clamshell cases were used for the US navy but the razor was a seamed white handled E3 like this one:

Maybe the Canadians had a similar diversion of Schick production but I haven’t seen references to it. Maybe some of our Canadian brothers can weigh in with any family history or knowledge they may have.

First shave with the Lather Catcher!
3 pass shave with a touch up, since me and the Mrs. are headed out for a date today.
The soap is vintage, the brush is handmade, and the razor is old, bit that doesn't mean they don't shave well.
I'm happy to have won this frim a PIF across the street.
