Much earlier. 1950. It was succeeded by the Push Button circa 1958.

Here's an ad from October 1950.

Nice.... earliest I had seen was from 1954. I have seen the 1958 pushbutton ads.

    Sunday Shave- 8th July

    Omega 11137
    Lea Classic Soap
    Schick Type F
    Schick S/S Single- Japan [ 12 ]
    Lea Classic A/S Lotion

I have learnt not to try rushing Shave with the F, perfect for a leisurely Sunday Morning as not out till later. Not really a lot to say after using this Razor, other than it is a shame that there are not more of them about.

I know the scent of Tabac isn't for everyone but is there a better performing high street soap?
If there is I haven't found it.
    Happy Shaving one and all.

    Proraso Pre Shave
    PSC Caffeinated Shave Cream
    Jayaruh #284 Synthetic
    Gem 1907 Lather Catcher
    Original Gem Cutlery SE
    CWR
    Thayers Peach WH
    PSC Caffeinated AS

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The PSC Caffeinated Shave Cream face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #284 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem 1907 Lather Catcher Razor with an Original Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then PSC Caffeinated AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Who
Whoa!!! You just ROCK MY WORLD!!! I hope you are sure of that date for this ad.....Please tell me you are...Please!!

I had told someone, that I saw an advertisement from 1952 so that would make this my Birth Year Razor....They told me it didn't come out until 53, and I was just trying to score a Feather Weight...So I went back on a Safari looking for that eary 1952 ad, and I could never find it again....So I started doubting my sanity, that I had seen the advert at all...
This one in 1950 makes my day!! And I am veddy happy to call this great razor my Birth Year SE....I've always been a big fan!

Actually I also read somewhere, that the Feather was originally released as a GEM 50th Year Anniversary razor Special in 1948!!! But I haven't been able to prove anything earlier than 1953....TIL NOW!!!!
