Had a great shave today! The PC is 53 weeks old, haven't used it much, thought it might be going bad. Boy was I wrong! Yogurt like lather!
Go out and and get it

I am a huge fan of the Schick E and G types, as I know several other injector nuts here are as well. My only complaint, and it's a fairly minor one, is that I find the handles can be a bit slippery, especially the E's. It may just be my imagination but the Bakelite handles feel a little slicker when water or lather runs down them. Of all of the E and G types I have I do believe the G8 with the square, ribbed handle is my favorite. I normally prefer round handles but this style seems to be a perfectly ergonomic fit for me, which may be why I also love the I types so much since they have a similar style handle.

I only have two, and they are identical except the one on the left has a much darker handle. Anyone else particularly fond of the G8?

This was advertised as a G-model, but my research indicates it's an E-2, since the spring rotates left. Can anyone clarify?

Either way, it's a good razor and shaves just as I remember my old Schick from the 1960s did.

I have one like that and have a theory that I think explains it. Mine has the plastic handle with a seam like a G, but only has the one patent number and says others pending stamped on the frame like the E types, which I think is the same as yours. My theory is that these where made as Schick was transitioning from the seamless Bakelite handles (E) to the plastic handles (G) but still had some of the frames that only had the one patent number and opened (E) left over so they used them up.

    Here's mine:

I got these on eBay and expect them to arrive on Monday. I already have an adjustable, but the J and the L are both new to me. The L is the razor I began my shaving journey with in the mid 60s. The L is unused, and the J looks either gently used or unused. The M is well used, but I think it will clean up well. I am excited.

Ive actually been out spoken around here about my preference for the g8....never had one, but I really dig that transitional look...between the Classic injector and the modern era Hydros....Also I like the short square handle of my I2, but I believe the G8 looks more Art Deco....Kind of like the Empire State building.... ;)

Very much so. I enjoy a G8 and get superb shaves with it.

I remember this one of HR's......And I whole-heartedly concur....its got transitional written all over it....and I think thats a GOOD thing....A 'G' handle and The very last of the E2 heads.....I'd vote for this one any day.....A Real Schick-Eversharp.....made by both companies.....I'd say a man who has one of these is a lucky man indeed...aswell as a close- shaven one...};^)

Speaking of a handsome Kit....whew! You know...I've always had a soft spot for those paint brush type handled Barber style brushes....and I'd have to take a cool shower after holding that lovely 500.....although that Lime Cologne should cool things down rather nicely....};^)

You know...I've been using GEM, and ER SE's daily for awhile now....when I do use my Schick, it gives me a fast DFS but my injector chops have slipped a little I believe. The BBS's seem a bit elusive, scared to think of using a DE.

That does it. This week I dusted off my 'Black Tip Beauty"....what a very nice looking 1952 Steel Black Tip Super Speed. I haven't used her in so long, but a little whitening tooth paste and brush and she looks like new...Dropped in a new Astra SP and got a BBS on my face in 3 passes and touch up, but both sides of my 'adam's apple' were not BBS....maybe not DFS. After a few days practice, I felt my DE chops returning.

So today I re-brought out my Schick-Eversharp I2, dropped in a new EMS/Personna and 3 passes later fine BBS on face, jaw line, and both sides of my neck was obtained with little to no effort...;^) I'm talkin....perfect!!....Whew!

The good Col. did invent a better mousetrap....One of life's true shaving joys....

Makes perfect sense, BL. I've used my "Transition" Injector now three times, and I've been taken by surprise at its aggressiveness (which is probably why I used it so often back in my military days).

This will definitely take a little more re-acquaintance.
