A rather pleasant Shave this morning with what is now my favourite British 1912. With the Aluminium round handle it to feels so nice in the hand during a shave, and the modern blade seems well suited to the Razor. There is not the usual 1912 noise, but it shaves so very smoothly and without fuss delivers a great close Shave.

    PSC Caffeinated AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The PSC Caffeinated Shave Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #220 brush. I did two passes with the Starling SE razor with a Gem Blue Star SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with PSC Caffeinated AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

The rounded ends of the Proline-B make it impossible to secure them in the Micromatic but a trimmed AC Proline is fine. Very smooth.[IMG]

Good afternoon Gentlemen! After exploring the razor that can use modern GEM blades, I became a fan of SE razors.

Добрый день Джентльмены! После знакомства с бритвой, которая может использовать современные лезвия GEM, я стал поклонником SE бритв.

    Simpson Chubby 1 / Maggards 2 band
    L`Occitane Cade soap
    PAA Starling V2
    Gem S/S [ 4 ]
    Pitralon Polar A/S Lotion.

Disaster averted as I realised something amiss. Upon checking it out I found that the blade was askew. In order to keep the head less bulky, the blade retaining lugs are not very pronounced and after cleaning I had somehow managed to let the blade slip off a lug when putting head and base plate together.
I find that the Razor has a lot of blade feel and feels quite aggressive, and definitely it is a Razor not to be rushed. This is my Fourth Shave with it , and most certainly the best, almost a Face Stroker. I rather liken it to an ER1924 in the way that it Shaves, and IMHO produces a better Shave than a Sabre L1 and ATT SE-G.

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: GEM PTFE
    Razor: Superior Lather Catcher
    Brush: JR #60 synthetic
    Soap: Oleo New City
Post: Witch hazel, Oleo New City aftershave

Been a while since I've used a SE razor. The Lather Catcher worked really well this morning. Smooth and comfortable. I find it a lot of fun and very interesting to use these old razors and get wonderful shaves from them. Our ancestors sure had stuff figured out when it came to tools and craftsmanship. Enjoy your day!
