    03/27/2019 – Williams Wednesday

Parker CHST – Chrome Handle Silver Tip
    Halleluiah Pottery Shaving Bowl 1995
Williams Mug Soap - Not Bloomed
Gem Silver Push Button – Minty Fresh
    CVS Blade
    Nivea Sensitive Post Balm
    Pinaud Clubman Classic

I had to break out this new little Gem that came in Monday. This is a minty push button and looks like it has never been used. The Parker brush whipped some heavenly Williams lather and the Gem mowed it down with two passes.

Great shave this morning! What more needs to be said.....Williams and a single edge blade. Does it get any better than this?

Finished with Nivea and a little Clubman Classic aftershave.

Y'all take care and have a great hump day!

The first picture I took with that brush was interesting for a previous shave. I'm glad I caught it or I would not have lived it down. Chrome can get you in trouble. Thanks Fuzzy!

This IMHO is one of the best long handled Schicks , though it only takes a single blade. It feels so good in the hand and when Shaving it feels rather like a magic wand, as it eradicates growth so smoothly. For me it provides a really relaxing Shave, and though may be considered mild is still capable of producing a nice close all round finish.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Tabac Shaving Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #313 mixed 70/30 badger/boar brush. I did two passes with the Ever-Ready Little Lather Catcher razor with a Gem Blue Star SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Revisiting Arko after a few years. The first attempt didn't work well and that was on me cuz I really didn't know what I was doing with any of the traditional shaving gear. Today, the Arko SS worked wonderfully well and a fine shave was had. My face is happy and y'all need to go enjoy your day now.

Grooming Dept's "Molten" is for smoke fans only, but it's not a one-trick pony. Upon lathering, it's an abundance of thick, smoky, birch tar, but intertwined with a subtle warm honey. As the birch tar plateaus, bitter citrus pierces through briefly before succumbing to dry and sharp rose. Upon final rinse, the smoky elements rapidly dissipate but there's a lingering naturally sweet, sun-baked alfalfa and toasted oats.

This was my first use of Grooming Dept's "Lusso" beef tallow base that features Jersey cow milk among a litany of other skin-friendly ingredients. I test lathered the evening before and found it actually requires a generous amount of water, but it has a breaking point in which the lather slings off the brush. As usual, this test lather makes for a more enjoyable shave when put into practice. A rich creamy lather is easy to attain even with my notoriously hard water. While initial and residual slickness are both high level, Lusso doesn't quite attain the status owned by their "Mallard" base. Post-shave, however, is right in line with Mallard and thus places it in the among the upper tier artisanal soaps.

While Molten shares very little elements with Clint, it doesn't matter because the soap's fragrance is gone within minutes. The smokiness ultimately put me in the mood for a rugged leathery musk fragrance. If you are a fan of Aramis-types, I highly recommend you pick up a vintage set of Clint. The cologne is certainly richer than the splash and seems to have a bit more old school musk. I picked this up on the recommendation of Phoenix Shaving proprietor Douglas Smythe, and for that I'm grateful.

Wonderful shave this morning. This was my first shave with anything from Noble Otter and I was impressed. Nice lather, great glide and cushion, wonderful post shave feel. I enjoyed the scent of the Barrbarr, the barbershop profile is there but it's different from others I have tried. The basil is very strong off the soap but it's not as prevalent in the aftershave. It was a great way to start the day. Have a great day folks!
