    Cold Water Rinse
    Williams Mug Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #224 Synthetic
    Gem Gold Feather Weight
    Gem Stainless
    CWR
    PSC Caffeinated AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #224 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem Gold Feather Weight razor with a vintage Gem Stainless SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with PSC Caffeinated AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Razor: Colonial Razor The General
    Handle: Maggard MR5
    Blade: Feather Pro
Brush Handle: B-400 The Brush by Tom/ WildWest Brushworks
    Knot: APShaveCo Tuxedo/ Boss
Soap: Mike's Lavender/ Dr John's Flowers in the Dark
Post Care: Stirling Unscented Witch Hazel, Alum
Aftershave: Dr John's Flowers in the Dark
Fragrance: Dr John's Flowers in the Dark

Well I'm continuing narrowing down my den so I'm trying to come up with the best lavender scented soap to keep. Today it was Mike's vs Dr John's. Off the puck I prefer the scent of Dr John's however Mike's scent improves once lathered. Speaking of lather I found that Mike's created a thicker lather with slightly more staying power. I applied the Dr John's on the right side of my face and the Mike's on the left. Both had about the same slickness, glide and cushion but both were just average; not the worst I've tired but no where near top tier. In the end the alum told the tale, I had equal burn on both sides of my face. Considering both had relatively equal performance scent is going to be the deciding factor in picking a winner here. I greatly prefer the scent from the Dr John's. The next round I will do a shave off between the Dr John's and my Martin de Candre Original to determine which I'm keeping. Have a great day folks!

The Damaskeene (not an open comb) is very very very mild for me and requires a lot of work to get an acceptable shave. Goes back on the shelf. All the other parts worked well though. Now go enjoy your day folks

I just finished my own "mini" shave off, between my trusty 1912 Gem and a Schick Injector E2 that I recently picked up.
I've always liked my 1912, but wanted to give the E2 a fair shake.
I used some Chinese Schick blades (chicks), and a selection of both stainless and carbon steel blades from TryABlade.
The blades from TryABlade were good, but I have to admit, the chicks in that E2 gave a much more comfortable shave.
I only used warm water to shave, in an effort to see just how much each blade would pull during shaving.

I agree with HoosierTrooper/Tom on this one...GEM got everything just about PERFECT on the Clog-Pruf. Thats one perfect shaver! GEM's TTO was before Gillette's and a more sophisticated design on so many levels!

I prefer the OC but for anyone wanting to try vintage SEs the CP would be a great place to start.
A very smooth and efficient shave every time.

Did a back to back with this Razor, as a bit unhappy with the overall finish. As a mild Razor I find that I need more Shave Time to get a better finish in difficult areas around the neck. Today spent that extra time and and was quite pleased with the resultant finish.

    SharptoothC I bite..........

Found this in an antique store today. Never found a Treet razor before, bought it solely because I'm into SE razors lately and I had never seen one and I loved the handle. What can y'all tell me about them? A little brassing, but overall seems in good condition. Test shave forthcoming.[IMG][IMG][IMG]
