    Massimo Dutti A/S Lotion

    After a fine Shave with the ER 1924, I used the more forgiving 1914 which really can be used to do the polishing up work to get an ultra close finish. But personally I still prefer the 1924.

    I thought I'd see how the Hussy performed with a cream.
    Excellently.

    My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Tabac Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #367 Badger/Boar brush. I did one pass with touch ups with the AutoStrop B1 razor with a Valet AutoStrop blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Micromatic Flying Wing, (S)chick injector blade, shave 4.
    btsi.jpg

    Decided to use a milder razor to test if this blade since it should be sharper would perform better in this type of razor. This blade does make the shave more aggressive in this razor but the end result I don't think justifies long term use. Tomorrow's shave will determine whether I want to continue using this blade in Micromatic razors or not since between this and the Clog Pruf peerless cover all the scenarios.

    This is definitely a ymmv hobby.
    I find the PTFE blades sharper than the injector blades for the first couple of shaves.

    This is also not an apples to apples comparison sharper blade doesn't equate to a sharper cut. Even though the thickness and blade edge cut is is different for both types of blades these razors are fine tuned for Gem style blades. I doubt coating will change any of that except for something like the personna injector blades vs schick in injector razors.

    I broke into my Vintage SE rotation to try this Razor which arrived yesterday. Loading can be a bit fiddly but I dispensed with the loading device and used my fingers. One has to be careful when locating the blade on the retaining lugs, as by pushing to hard you can eject the blade through the front. After loading it properly with a fresh blade I was ready to go.
    The Skeletal handle looks odd but using tips from the Video on the Website, I quickly adapted to holding it.I decided to try it as it came on a No 2 plate, not expecting it to work on my tough " Need to Shave Daily" beard. However with a nice degree of blade feel the Shave was ultra smooth. and the finish superb. In fact for a first Shave outperforms quite a few AC/Se Razors that I have. Such a shame that the reasonable cost of the Razor [ £47 ] is almost doubled by Shipping and Custom Charges.

    Micromatic Flying Wing, Gem Stainless ptfe blade, shave 2.

    When all is said and done the shave with this blade was a lit bit closer than the (S)chick blade and lot smoother with no irritation. Time to conclude the injector blade test in Micromatic razors. End result they bring no improvement in the shave on the mild or wild side based upon this and the Clog Pruf peerless and are a lot more harsh and aggressive. No reason to use to use these injector blades in Micromatics except in the following cases;
    a. you don't have any other blades on hand to use
    b. you want to try it just to experience it first hand to form your own opinion
    c. you are a masochist that gets off on painful shaves
    d. you are an emo looking for new ways to cut yourself aka wild or closet emo that isn't ready to go all the way aka mild
    e. you shave like honey badger or the gym teacher on Beavis and Butthead.
