    Though the Shave was completed without problems, I did not push it as it was fairly obvious that the blade was past its best so the finish was quite substandard today.

    The Palmolive Shave Cream face-lathered well with the Semogue Owners Club brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick L1 with a Schick Proline blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Very nice open comb Type B I have the solid guard bar version and enjoy the shaves. Yours looks to be in excellent condition.

    Oh. I thought that was considered an open comb. I haven't seen them up close. Mine has a completely smooth guard bar.

    They are both closed combs. The B2 which that one is has teeth on guard, the B1 doesn't.

    It’s a bit of an open comb/bar guard combination. The teeth are there, but are an extension of a bar underneath. Zoom into the picture and you’ll see. The teeth leave just enough room for lather to channel through while shaving.
