    Autostrop A2, despined gem stainless ptfe blade, shave 5
    A2.jpg

    Yet another razor on loan from @twhite . I have wanted to try this razor out for awhile now but could never find one for sale. I was surprised how this shaves compared to an A1 or B1 which are both fairly aggressive razors. This razor is super mild even milder than the C model Autostrop razors I have used. End result was short of BBS and on par for me anyways with a Gillette 3pc Tech.

    The Williams Mug Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #401 brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Pal Injecto-matic with a Personna blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Mennen Skin Bracer AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Yet another razor on loan from @twhite . I think the model name is a Imperial King. This razor the blade feel is like an Autostrop but it shaves like a Gem flat top razor. The end result is as good as the best shaves both can give if not better with a BBS finish. I really like this razor not just the way it shaves but how it is built. This one is my favorite so far I've been able to try out and will be keeping an eye out to buy one.

    The razor look beautiful. Does it take a modern Gem blade without modification?

    It does. What is unique to the razor is the thread length on the handle. The razor head is a 2 piece with a hinge, there is a center hole in both pieces of the razor head and the handle thread screws into locking both pieces and in turn the blade in place. When I get a chance I'll post a picture of it disassembled.

    @RFBNEW

    Here is the Clark's not Clarke razor disassembled. I misread the stamping on the razor. I am pretty sure this razor was also produced by the same Clark that made straight razors at the same time. Patent date on this is 1916. Razor most likely was sold up until the early 20s.

    Next up from @twhite to try. Razor is one of those it's bark is worse than it's bite. Plenty of blade feel but more tugging and scraping than cutting. Though no cuts the alum block felt like a 4 alarm fire after applying. End result was short of a BBS but still much better than the worst performer I have been able to test which was the Autostrop A2.

    A very rare occasion I missed a Shave yesterday, as Shopping for essential for a friend - queues miles long. Then spent time trying to get TV/ Digi Box to work - no luck today even with proper cables. Getting through to service provider is !!!!.
    The Shave was rather rubbish, with two days growth the blade did not work, should of changed it but persevered and got what I deserved , a very scrubby finish.
