Norvell, despined gem stainless ptfe blade, shave 4


Razor made by or for the Norvell Shapleton Hardware Co. of St. Louis patented 1907. This is another razor on loan from @twhite to try out. See write up of the Toledo razor. Razor shaves almost the same as the Toledo except it is not as irritable or a shave with the same end result.

 

Today I used the Rebul Lavanda Colonia for my W-H Cleanup Pass. It's not Witch-Hazel, But It Totally 'Rocked It'!!
And then I 'big splashed' the VIBR! It was 60 degrees here and the Sun was shining...So I had to celebrate...Even if not going outside ...

What better way than a great shave followed with a splash of Bay Rum!

Because I foolishly did not change the blade on my 1912 yesterday I got a pretty scrubby finish. I decided today to clear the decks before moving on to
an Injector rotation, and used the Occam-Oren. The Oren may be lacking in kerb appeal, but if I want a really good Shave, it is one that I would choose. The Shave is extremely smooth and comfortable, and without the hint of any problem got the kind of ultra close finish that I associate with this Razor.

Last of the razors on loan from @twhite . This one based on the patent date would have been made around 1917. I didn't expect much of this razor since it was mild and you can run this razor around your face and not cut yourself unless you really tried hard to. Well even with all that the end result was on par with the best of the bunch so far which is the Clark.

The Musgo Real Shaving Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #401 brush. Two passes and touch ups with the J.A. Henckels Rapide Lather Catcher with a J.A. Henckels wedge blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Mennen Skin Bracer AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Easter Sunday Schick Shave, Took out my Stick Schick and still testing this new Schick twin that has been in this razor since bought. The twin ll is a marathon blade and has some life still in it after 30 shaves it has performed.

Razor : Stick Schick injector thyme L series-MFG 1973- gives a good close shave with a Twin blade IMO.
Blade : Schick Twin ll injector (30) (Japanese MFG?) good blade to try if not susceptible to in-grown hairs.
Soap: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore.- one of my favorites with great scent and lather qualities!
brush: Yaqi wolf whiskers 24 mm- nice brush to use.
Pre shave: Brush wash my whole face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 3.
Post shave: Fine Fresh Vetiver with witch Hazel + a dollop of Nivea Men balm.
Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = Great Easter Sunday shave today!

Decided after yesterdays Super -Shave to continue with other members of the Occam`s Family. Today I am using the Enoch , which is quite an elegant looking Razor but I am finding the cutting angle more like that of a DE rather than the other AC/SE that I use. Today I actually felt more at home with it, and had a smooth comfortable Shave, and got quite a good close all round finish too.

For those who like weighty Razors this one from the Occams family may well suit. It delivers a very nice Smooth Shave, and has a nice amount of blade feel which assists in gauging the progress of the Shave. I find it to be very good at Shaving the upper parts of the face, but not as good as the Oren around the neck, but is better than the King Cobra which it has replaced.

The Tea Tree Body Bar Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #397 brush. Two passes and touch ups with the RazoRock Black Hawk with a Feather Professional blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
