MMMonday April 13th 2020, Its going to be a A.S.R. family offspring shave with the Star bar #4 and like usual it gives me the type of shave I like and shaving with a 100 year old razor is a blast from the past.

Razor : Star bar #4 lather catcher- MFG 1920-(Kampfe brothers- A.S.R "Star brand"umbrella of company's) great razor! Kampfe brothers were producing the first safety razors produced in the USA over 20 yrs before Gillette & Gem even exsited!
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (4) best blade to shave with IMO.
Soap: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore "Firense" very enjoyable soap to use with excellent lather qualities!
Brush : Yaqi Tuxedo knot 24 mm with black marble handle- one of my favorites!
Pre- shave: Shower with CeraVe face scrub+ a dollop of clear Aloe vera gel on beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 3.
Post shave: AVON " True gent" cologne with witch hazel + Avon True Gent balm- I really like the balm-Home run IMO!
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave and hit my target sweet spot.

Gave this razor one more try before sending it back to @twhite . I like it for a mild razor and simple design but I have plenty of Gem razors that are about the same mildness and as good if not better. I'd still recommend picking this razor or a copy with different branding up if you see one for sale and it is reasonably priced.

I have one. For me, it's not as smooth as my favorite Gem razors but the shaving result is on par with them. I expected some weepers and nicks during my shaving but none of them existed. It is a very weird razor for me

 

Razor reminds of a B1 Autostrop loaded with a Feather blade the way it feels on the face but shaves much closer than a B1 loaded with a Feather.

 

I forgot I had binned the blade after my last shave so this shave was with a fresh blade. The shave was efficient but a tad on the harsh side. Perhaps a featherweight would have been a better choice. But overall not a bad shave.

I love all of the Mer Shaving soaps I have. I don't use the barber shop scent as often because it's a sample size and I always feel like it will run out to soon when I have a sample.

The Razor felt very small after using a rather hefty AC/SE yesterday. The Shave went quite well and the overall quality of finish was good , I found that it worked very well around the upper lip and chin.

The Tabac Shave Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #397 brush. Two passes and touch ups with the RazoRock Black Hawk with a Feather Professional blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Thanks! The brush does have a lava lamp type vibe. The razor is such a great shaver. The texture sure does make it stand out some.

Shavezee, despined CVS carbon steel blade, shave 1


This razor for as mild as it is delivers a BBS shave on par with some super aggressive razors. It has been awhile since I've used these blades but damn are carbon steel blades much smoother than the stainless ptfe coated ones with no drop off in performance. If it wasn't for maintenance issues with carbon steel and rust I'd use these exclusively.
