    Schick L1 Injector

    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS

The Morning TOST Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Burma Shave Boar Brush. Just one pass and touch ups with the Schick L1 Injector with a Personna blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Yesterday I used another 1909 on loan from @twhite . Today I used mine to compare. As you can see the difference between the 2 is the push buttons on the back. End result the only difference is the buttons, other than that they shave identical.

The PAL Adjustable has a reputation for being hit or miss for a lot of folks. Technique triumphs with the PAL and today it was on the money. Unbelievably smooth and minimal touch ups for a super close BDBS shave :happy036:

Over the last few days I have had good quality Shaves with an Enoch. Today the Shave was faster paced and
the finish superb except around the jawline where I rushed. As the blade is still feeling good, I will do a repeat and correct todays shortcomings.

After using the 1909 razors it was time to pull out the 24 shovelhead to compare. The razors are similar the 24 being milder than the 09. End result the shave closeness for the 1909 is better, not a lot better but noticable.

I made up for my inattention of yesterday, when I did not really spend sufficient time shaving around the neck with the Hiram. As I thought still life in the blade, so with a good lather the Shave was smooth and comfortable, with a finish that is matched by few other Razors.
I do like the un razor like "Oren", but I am finding that the Heavy Weight "Hiram" is a quite outstanding
Razor and probably one my best AC/SEs.

Sunday morning, 24 hours worth disappeared using my Valet Autostrop and a modified Personna PTFE blade. What a remarkably smooth, comfortable and effective combo, perhaps one of SE's "best kept secrets".

Great looking razor and setup! Is the only blade modification requires the removal of the spine?

Damaskeene OC. I have to admit not a favorite, simply not as efficient as the SEs I prefer and smoothness just adequate. [IMG]

Thank you. I was pleasantly surprised how smooth this was. The last time I used an Autostrop was a later model that requires a Feather FHS-10. I find the modified Gem blade to be much more comfortable.

Besides de-spining the Gem blade you also have to nibble off a small amount of metal from the sides at the rear of the blade to clear the bumps on either side of the holder. If you have an FHS-10 blade you can align them and see what needs to be removed, or you can use trial and error until the blade fits properly (so it will align evenly to the blade stops). I purchased an inexpensive nibbler from Amazon to do this. There are many thread on this procedure and once you've done one it becomes a very simple procedure to prepare a new blade.

Very nice shave today. I really like the Baton handles and am glad I found this Treet with the red baton. It killed to birds with one stone when I acquired it. And this new synthetic knot performs much better than my previous 2 synthetics.
