After yesterday's shave I had to go with something milder but effective since my face was still raw. This razor is one of the better mild but BBS close shavers I own.

As it was my first Shave with this OC Razor, I chose to use a guarded blade as I have a heavy beard which always needs work to get a good finish. I like the weight and balance of this Hawk. a nice agree of blade feel without being too aggressive . The shave was completed without mishap, and the finish very good, except my weak area of the RH Jawline. But for a maiden Shave more than acceptable.

Clark Silver King, Gem ptfe stainless razor, shave 2.
    csk1.jpg csk2.jpg

Since the razor has patent applied for we can deduce this razor was made between 1910 and 1911 according to the patent filed here.
    https://patents.google.com/patent/US989176A/en?assignee=Clark+Blade+&+Razor+Co

This is the second Clark razor I've used and as good as the other one was this one I think is even better and also a little bit more aggressive than the later model one I used which was introduced sometime after 1914. BBS finish with minimal irritation.

On this second outing with The Hawk V3 , I slowed down the pace a bit today, thus ensuring that the areas not cleared well yesterday were dealt with properly. I completed the Shave without mishap, but because I worked hard to get the closest of Shaves I applied some Alum, which caused some tingle. Will use this for a few more days to determine its suitability for use as a Daily Shaver.

Thanks, Gary. Since you like SMdF, you'll love the SMN Tabacco Toscano Cologne. The SMdF is actually fragranced with that cologne. SMN Tabacco Toscano Cologne is underrated. It easily lasts 8-10 hours for me.

I love that brush and that razor!

It is feasible that a person using that razor back in 1916 could have still been using an original brush similar to your civil war era styled brush. Relatively speaking, it would be the equivalent to us currently using a brush from 1969, so not hard to imagine.

SOTD, Friday, May 15th 2020- Took out my Stick Schick injector with the marathon Twin ll blade and had another shave.
The blade is getting a little more tuggy on shave #31 but still another shave or 2 in it.

Razor : Stick Schick injector L theme series - Mfg 1973- works well with a Twin ll blade.
Blade : Schick twin ll (31) interesting testing this blade- I try to use it once a month, impressed for a blade that has been out but not used consecutively for over a year. Rinse and blow until next session!
Soap: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore "Firenze"- great scent and excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi tuxedo knot 24 mm "Sagrada Familia" named after a great cathedral in Barcelona Spain.
Pre shave: Shower, brush wash my face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 3+ clean up. - good way to wake a person up in the morning.
Post shave: Pinaud Clubman with witch Hazel + Nivea balm
Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= [IMG] good shave with my Stick Schick injector!

CV Heljestrand, gem stainless ptfe blade, shave 3
    [IMG] [IMG]

This time I shaved this razor shallow after the first shave being steep. Much smoother shave but not as close as at a steep angle. The happy medium for this razor and a gem blade is somewhere between. I have one more shave to go with this razor and a wedge blade before going onto some other razors.

    Tuff Red A/S Lotion

This may be a budget soap but works for me, my best Shave so far with this new to me Razor. Again trouble free, with a rather Face Stroking finish. I may as an experiment change the blade early as others rate it with the Proline.
