Not a lot to say when one Shaves with The Occams, despite its odd looks it really does deliver exceptionally top class Shaves. I am well set up for our first meal out in a long time. Have dig out some decent clothes as have been in shorts/sweats for so long.

Very nice Gem junior bar lather catcher, Your handle might have a stropping attachment inside it if you did not know.

    Razor:
Star bar Lather catcher model#4(Kampfee Brothers NY)- Mfg 1919- Excellent shaves usually from this great little lather catcher. Milder mid range IMO, I'm very happy with this purchase.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (3) Great blade, very sharp, good longevity, excellent cost, smooths out nicely, predictable wear 95 % of the time with no drama.
Soap: Italian barber Amici- great mild scent with great lather qualities.
Brush: Razorock Noir 400 synthetic- great all around brush that has natural boar brush feel with out the scritch IMO.
Pre shave: brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser+ a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 3 + pickups.
Post shave: Italian barber Amici with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= [IMG] Excellent shave with my Kampfee brothers Star bar#4!

Yes Sir there is a stropping attachment in the handle but I think it's for the wedge style blades. I just used a regular single edge blade in it to shave with and it worked great. This is my first Lather Catcher and I love it.

I am thinking the handle on the razor may screw into the bottom of the stropping attachment.

Yes you are correct that is exactly what it does, when it is attached it feels correct in length when I did attach them. I tried to strop a old thick spined blade for just a test and it work well for the time period.

    Lea Classic soap
    Occams Hiram Commander -Plate 3
    Feather Proguard [ 7 ]
    Lea Classic A/S Lotion

Lost the plot a bit with rotations, so will have a go with my 4th member of the Occams family - The Hiram Commander. This might suit those who like a heavier Razor as the others are quite light. This Razor [ when Available] like the V1/Orens will take variable aggression plates, but comes supplied with a No2 plate. However, because of my previous experience with the Orens I have mine fitted with a No3 plate + a Feather Proguard blade.
I have been tending to favour this Razor over The Enoch, as I seem to get more consistent Shaves with it. Today despite producing a rather runny lather, I managed to get a trouble free Shave with an extremely pleasing close all round finish.

Second iteration of the '500' razors. Either my technique improved or this is a much smoother version of it's type I Hydromagic counterpart I call beardbuster. It performs like beardbuster but nowhere as aggressive. Only way to find out if it my technique or not is to use the original beardbuster tomorrow.

First shave with my new to me 1904 Ever- Ready Lather Catcher. And first time using my newly restored Rubberset 200-2 brush that I just finished .
    Razor: 1904 Ever-Ready Lather Catcher
Blade: Gem Single Edge Stainless (1)
Brush: Rubberset 200-2 2 Band Badger Knot from Maggard Razor
Lather: WSP Formula T Bay Rum
    Astringent: Osma Alum block
Splash: Ogallala Bay Rum Sage and Cedar
Really impressed by this little razor . This is the first time using the Ever-Ready LC.
Got very little stinging from the Alum after the shave and got a very close smooth comfortable BBS irritation free shave. 20200710_224338.jpg
