    Schick Type D Injector...:p

    Three Pass Shaving Routine....:eatdrink013:

Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil
    Schick Type D Injector
NOS Dutch Made Schick Super Stainless Injector Blade (New)
    Semogue Boar Brush
Palmolive Shaving Cream (added Argan oil)
    Organic Aloe Vera Gel
LOGONA Man Aftershave Splash (From Germany)

The Schick Type D is up there with the F Type for me...These Two Injectors are the "Schick Crown Jewels" for me...They are two different animals of course but one is as efficient as the other....I normally use an NOS Schick Krona Blade in the D Type but I opted for one of these NOS Dutch made Super stainless Blades that I acquired recently and I must say that I had the shave of my life .....I could have walked away with 2 passes and no touch up....I did a light 3rd pass for a lovely all over BBS Result....I feel as if the wind has blown away my whiskers....The D Type is so comfortable with these Dutch made injector blades....I actually prefer these blades to NOS Schick Platinum Plus Blades as they are so smooth and forgiving...;)

And the Cherry on the Cake was my favourite LOGONA Man Aftershave Splash ....This stuff is very refreshing and also provides a moistening effect on the skin....I highly recommend this stuff as its all natural and chemical free.... :chores016:

I lathered up with a thick coat of arko applied directly to my wet face. As soon as the brush hit it I had gobs of lather foaming up like the monster from a b movie. My Semogue boar brush needed watered while I was lathering it up so a few cupped handfuls of water and I had enough later to shave all the Chicago Bears. I decided to skip the last few days with the G type and move on to the Gem bullet tip. Mostly because it scares me but, I have decided that since the large head is not easy to steer around M face I will do 2 passes with the Gem and then clean up on a 3rd pass with the Gtype Schick. Todays shave let me know that it is a flawless combo. The first shave with the Gem was slightly harsh on my face so I palm stropped the blade before today's shave and it was great. Smooth yet still sharp enough that there was hardly a pulled whisker. I believe that a Stainless blade may work better for me but the carbon steel are beautify shavers. I had a 2 day+ growth on and after the first WTG pass I had maybe a few hours growth left on most of my face. After the 2nd XTG pass I could have called it except for the areas below my nose at the corners of my mouth and right under my jaw. I relathered and caught the 3rd ATG pass with the G type. Some might call this BBS by I think it could be better so I'm calling it a DFS. With practice the Gem may be the most whisker wacking whisker wacker I have. My only problem with it is the lack of maneuverability the large head offers. I may always use it with another smaller razor for the Las clean up pass.

Yeah, I use mine the from medium to 3 quarters notch....I have never found the need to use it any higher than that....I really like the Schick Adjustable a lot with Twin blades but its is really a mild injector compared to the PAL...:chores016:

This little razor provides a fantastic shave. Two passes wtg and I was left with a near BBS. It did bite me once though when I haphazardly slid the razor sideways on the side of my neck. The blade gap does deserve respect.

Amazon is where I got mine - but then again, I get free shipping. I'll keep my eyes open to see if any stores carry them.

Anybody tried or heard anything about the off-brand Type L razors? Any good?

Never used one, but I have heard it said that they are poor performers compared to the real deal...There has been a number of nice Schick L Types been coming up on Fea - Bay recently Sir...:)

Once again, I set my sights on a PAL Adjustable after reading one of your reviews / comments on an earlier post Billy. But I'm not blaming you! You're a deep well of knowledge!

I could've gone on and on about how great it was today and how surprisingly smooth with a heavy growth as well. But I want to get some more shaves under my belt first.
    Thanks Billy :happy088:

Yeah, I forgot to put this in my write-up... I did the entire shave with the setting in the middle. I think I'll experiment with settings once I'm dialed in on the basic technique.
    Thanks Gents!

Glad you like the PAL Sir....PAL Injectors are relatively unknown to a lot of folks in the SE world....They are enjoyed by few....:chores016:

    PAL Injectomatic....:p
    [IMG]
I just Love this USA made PAL Injectomatic....This thing was introduced in the 1950s....Must have looked like a thing from the Future at that time...I always think of it as something a Secret Agent would be issued like the "Man from Uncle" film series or the puppet series Joe 90...:scared011:

I'm glad you're enjoying the Gem. I often have to use an injector to clean up below my nose when using GEM razors.

Last night I picked up a well used Schick Navy E3 locally as a duplicate since it was such a bargain. I was thinking about taking it on a backwoods trip I'm going on so I gave it a light cleaning this morning so I could try it out. Wow! It's the first Type E I've used and I cannot believe how easy and super close it shaved. Truly impressive. I'm hoping all my Es will be that way! For the first time in my life I am going to be well shaved while off the grid. :happy036:

Glad you enjoyed it Sir.....The Navy issue G 1 handled USA made Type E 3 is quite a rare bird...The so called G 1 Type Handle was actually a clone of earlier the Type E Handle ....The Type E 2 that opens is more aggressive than the Type E 3 and ever so smooth....:)
    Enjoy Sir....:chores016:

I would really like a forum dedicated specifically to injectors and I`m thinking about venturing into some se projects too. I have essential tremors, which I take meds to calm my shakes. I have a little Schick J1 that works great even if the meds fail part way through. I also use de razors from time to time but I like not having to handle the blades and actually get a better shave with my injector and Ted Pellas.

Good luck on the forum, respectfully, Bill

Yes, my early E2 and a recent acquisition of a late variety E2 are waiting for me. Maybe I'll step up to the early E2 (head opens) tomorrow... That is, assuming enough stubble has grown back.

During Single Edge SEptember I've experienced razors I’ve never used before:
four different Schick injectors (Type E, G, I and J)
    a PAL Adjustable.

I’ll add another today - a Schick Type C (Magazine Repeating Razor).
I’ve got two different types - an open comb (C1) and one with a safety bar (C3) that I’ll use today.

    Morning shave
    Hot Shower
    Soap: Arko stick
    Brush: Omega Pro 48
    Razor: Schick C3
    Blade: Schick Injector (China) (1)
Thayers Lemon & Aloe Witch Hazel
    After Shave: Myrsol Limon
    Schick C3.JPG

    Two-pass shave.
A little apprehensive approaching this razor. A bit of a departure from other injectors I’ve used. It’s certainly heavier than more “modern” injectors. I’ve also read that modern injector blades are a tad thicker than those used when this razor was manufactured 80 years ago. So that meant not using the auto-load feature of the design. Inserting a blade manually requires care for safety, but is easily done.

First pass - XTG - All apprehension was immediately relieved as the cutting angle is easily found by my normal routine - cap first onto the skin and increasing the blade angle from there to ascertain the best cutting angle. I used a very shallow angle on this first shave. Very smooth pass, hardly felt the blade, but got an acceptable reduction.

Second pass - ATG - I chose to use the same angle as the first pass. A good deal more feedback of course, but normal for most injectors.

A very nice shave. I think that in time, regular BBS would be a possibility for me with this razor. The added weight makes it a bit easier to focus on our “no pressure” mantra than with the more common, lighter injectors.

I will be working with this and the open comb version to see which works best for me. My hope is that, because of it’s compact design, it might make for a very good travel razor.

    Cheers!
    RT
