Razor set at 5. Blade is definitely mellowing out which is normal for these blades at around shaves 6 - 8. Super smooth shave with a BBS finish though not a glass like BBS like earlier shaves when the blade edge was sharper.

Getting near the end of this soap, and not the best lather today. However the Shave went well, and again without any fuss got an excellent close all round finish. Finding that the Enoch is now outpeforming the Hiram Commander.

 

Joining the party for the first time. Recently gifted to me by a new friend who thought I should have these "Gems" as I "collect razors". 98% of my collection is vintage Gillette, with a couple Rolls razors and Stahly vibrating razor.
I know nothing of Gem other than a few terms...SE, Micromatic, and 1912 being those terms.
Can anyone recommend a blade? I have some SE blades for a window scraper on my work bench lol.
Finally, can anyone ID these? I thought the Hickok was just a jewelry box, but I did find Hickock vintage blade displays...so maybe it's original to the razor? Any input appreciated! Enjoy the pics:

Razor set at 5. Blade is still holding up with a BBS finish achieved. Interesting observation on soaps. I've been using this kokum butter soap by PAA called Tokyo Rose that I acquired a while back in a lot of items I purchased. It makes a good lather but isn't very slick. The smell can be described as drain cleaner like. I happened to switch up to the Taconic pump soaps I bought with the razor and what a difference. This stuff is slick as they come and the shaves are really much smoother because of it. I don't know what the ingredients are in it that make it this slick but I do recommend it to try if you like soaps like this.

 

I had an excellent New Years Eve shave today with the Gem MMOC and a 3 rd use Gem SS PTFE.
