I had to refrain from reading these threads for weeks!

You know I've heard that but it has been so many years since I've shaved in a Spanish Toilet bowl....I just can't remember....Probably because of the tequila.....lol!

Oh my God...My Ever Ready 1912 is near...arrived in Frankfurt this night. Hope to receive it tomorrow.

 

TGIF shaved with my Gbar this morning another razor that doesn't get enough love around here, she treated me good though with an easy two pass DFS. Out the door dreaming of the weekend.... Have a great day everyone!

 

I found this cherry cased G1 BIN for $35 shipped! Hope to have it Monday! Looks awesome! I don't remember seeing a cased set in this condition but my memory is becoming less reliable as time goes by....... I think I have CRS.

 

That was one of the first Type G 1 Injectors to have the Eversharp stamp on the spring around mid 1948...The previous Type G 1 models had the Schick Injector stamp on the spring...The Type G 1 was introduced in 1946 with the Eversharp takeover but the Repeating Razor hallmark was continued to be used until 1948 on the Type G 1...It was part of the takeover deal much to Eversharps dismay..

Maybe a dumb question...but is the Ever Ready 1912 an Open Comb or closed Comb? I would say it is a Hybrid because it's not a complete safety bar and not complete open comb.

What is it?

 

Its a closed comb design..A safety bar or guard bar design is just another variation of a closed comb...The Guard bar design was rarely utilized in early design SE razors with the exception of Injectors of course..Later Gem models utilized the bar guard design..I can see where you are coming from though..

I'm coming from the DE-Razors. You're truly right if you meant this.

Used my Mongoose for a few shaves and was really amazed. Had a shave with my GEM Contour a looooong time ago. I can think of a very good shave.

So, the 1912 is a closed comb. Good to know...I've made a Hybrid out of it...

 

That looks pretty darn fine. Great choice......my arm is getting longer from patting myself on the back
