I have a pack of the carbon blades that I haven't tried yet. Let me know how they work!

I used my Star razor today. I'm beginning to be a big fan of this razor. It's an easy and efficient shaver and lots of fun to use. I find it to be a noisy razor, with lots of feedback. I like that. Too bad I'm committed to NB 16, because I think I would love to add a couple more to my collection. Wait till next year!

Keep getting great shaves from my J1, not quite as good as yesterday, but still a DFS+. It must have # 5, lost track. I guess I`ll have buy an abacus. Sometimes when you`re "old" you have a tendency to walk off and leave your head behind, or put your behind ahead. One is never sure.

    Happy shaving everyone.

Those Feather carbon steel blades are the absolute "Pits"...I mean that sincerely ..The Stainless coated ones are the way to Go..They aint the best of blades either but they are a lot better than the Carbon blades..:p

I agree. My worst shaves since getting into wet shaving were with Feather Carbons in a Valet. Absolutely couldn't continue to use them and I tried several times.

Which blades do you think are the best? Are the PTFE the stainless coated you refer to?

Trading is your answer. It's a great way to try something new and keep your stockpile in check.

A Chick blade & No More than the Middle Setting to find the Sweet Spot..You will be fine..This one is as quiet as a Ninja & that's correct..Just Go by Feel..The "Shy Girl" will reveal herself to you..Enjoy..:angelic007:

Good luck on your first run Tom. After buying three of these razors and having a rocky start, the Adjustable has become my go to razor. Beautiful construction and an admirable shaver. I have learned as I have used it:
1.) Start with the head flat on your face and roll down to get it to work.
2.) Make sure to keep light pressure or it won't work as well.
3.) Don't be scared to change where you hold the razor to keep the angle right (especially over the chin, jawbone, and mustache areas).

Hope you enjoy your Pal and that the Shy Girl will give you a comfortable and smooth shave:happy088:

    Ok
I just finished. I must say that it is a humbling razor. I set it right in the middle. Started the shave and found that I am in need of some serious time with this razor. The sweet spot is incredibly small. I managed a decent shave with 3 pass and cleanup. I found my second pass to be my best pass.

This is a pretty interesting razor. I think with some time on it I will get some fantastic shaves. I had no weepers and zero irritation. My next time on it I may go up 1 notch and see what happens. This razor makes almost no noise. I think i need to have a very hydrated lather next time to help me with some more feel.

After I get my Bunny razor sorted out I will do a 30 day focus with this. This razor will teach me a lot.

In my Humble opinion the PAL Adjustable is the Most Aggressive Injector out there..Its far too Subtle for a lot of folks..This is a Sensitive Mans Razor & most Guys are as Sensitive as a 50 Calibre Bullet..:lyrtuy5:

I spent one week with my Pal Adjustable when I got it last summer. Started out the same way - middle setting, Chick blade. It took a few shaves and then BAM! I got it. I didn't mess with the adjustment at all. Just wanted to get used to that narrow sweetspot.

Started with the head flat to my face and adjusted the angle incrementally. Once I found the spot I thought it was the best.

In the next month or so I will be doing a one month blade focus with it and the Pal to find good blades for them and improve technique.

    Have fun with it!

I think @Karl G has come to the same conclusions as me on PAL Injectors..They excel with a Chick blade..Its hard to beat that combo..You may find different though..:)

Ya know, most everything I've learned about injectors I've learned on this thread.

So with all the experience at my disposal here, I may just stick with the Chick blades and just get used to it and the adjustable aspect of the razor during my focus.

Maybe I'll just use the Pal InjectoMatic to experiment with blades.
