    Strike up the Band (Schick)!

I decide to strike up the band for one more tune! I really like the Schick Instamatic Band over the Gillette Techmatic Band razor. The heads will fit on each other(schick) but if you put the G head on the Schick, you will not have a way to advance the blade because of no Handle. It's a mlid razor if you like mild razors as I do. Razor Band cartridges are hard to come by. :happy005:happy005:happy005

I am new to TSD, but I have been a TSG stalker for some time now. :char039
I just had to post a reply to say that band razors rule.
    :whacky084

I too prefer Schick band razors, and I have a guarded, near lifetime supply of band carts. The band razor carts hold up great after all these years, and still provide excellent shaves. I still consider them SE razors, albeit razors with one long rolled up blade. Some of them are adjustable to boot.

Thanks for the welcome. As for that solid handle Schick G2, Schick advertisements of the day described it as a 14K gold filled handle. This may have led to the mix ups. However, it is gold plated. I used to own one of these and I like the feel of it as opposed to the all metal gold plated hollow version. They showed up on Ebay from time to time but most people did not know what they really were until now.

Hey guys...Today I tried those Long's Drug Store's Platinum Chromium/Personnas that "ALAN" from Arizona gave me and they shave GREAT !!! I can't tell them from the Schick Platinum Plus's...So sharp they just glide on top of the lather and leave a BBS in their wake...I'm sooo happy to be a part of this injector scene right now...I'm getting the best shaves of my life, and having a ball doing it...:happy108

I have not shaved with the Goldie's yet, and I paid around $10.00 each for them, both with rough cases so they are not off limits to shave with, but I imagine that they shave close to the G? I should try them though, perhaps tomorrow! Out of all my Injectors that I have, I like the L-Type the best but I also really like the PAL too!

I wanna join the partay ! Here are my SE's to date in top pic, and have a lot of 10 more on the way as we speak, consisting of the second pic, less the Valet Auto Strop in box on top right and the Silver OCMM just below it between the two older ones, all others are coming to me. Two Original Auto Strop's on left one in box and the other lower one. Then I'm not real sure what the first one on bottom row with its back turned is and forth one from the left on bottom is, with the whole top flipped over. Anyway can't wait till they get here later this week. I'll have more descriptive pics soon guys. Aren't these SE's amazing shavers !!!
If you guys have a clue about those two I don't have a clue about, please chime in !

Wow. I'm a bit slow here. I'm not a huge fan of injectors and never did much like the Single Edge razors I've tried, but I completely forgot that my Rolls is a SE razor. It's a fantastic shaver.

Add me to the s/e party

I have tons of rolls's, a hand full of Gems, Every-ready and treet single edges. But here's an acquisition of a couple not so well known s/e's. I present a Burham 1909 and 1930's Adelene from Fremont Ohio . These babies shave close, and don't forgive for poor technique. They will deliver BBS easily but aren't afraid to bite you bad, if you deviate from the proper angle. I highly recommend these shavers for the experienced s/e users.

Hey NewB, That's an interesting piece you got there. Have not seen a razor like that before! Nice! Everybody has some serious pieces!

So Justin, great collection and which ones are in your daily rotation for shaving? I know that the Pal adjustable if in good condition is one of the holy grail of injectors like the Paul Revere. Doug

You coyote!! Whats the prob ?? You don't dig Single-Edges??
Man you've got an army of razors...Very cool...I think maybe we should be having this party at your place...LOL

Do you collect DE's as well ?...or do you concentrate on SE's mainly?

And of course do you have certain favorites and what would they be??
That 1910 made my heart skip a beat...:) But you have quite a few centerfold worthy pieces there my friend...

If we got You and Blugill and Danny and some of the other cats together we could make some Cecille B. DeMille worthy SE razor-porn films with the cast we'd have...LOL...

Honestly... I am an accumulator of the pack rat variety. Believe it or not, I have an equally large number of DE razors as well. Actually, I have more DE razors. As I just can't pass a good price on a razor by.... This really is an addiction...

I love both SE and DE. However, as I have so many more blade options with DE and there are new models as well as vintage I tend to be building that collection more and spending more time with DE razors. However, my rotation is HUGE and keeps growing. OK, it isn't a rotation as much as twice a week picking something different to shave with for the next 3-4 days. Although I am not a collector, my harder to replace razors do not get used as often because I am worried about damaging them. They get use, but usually, I grab something easy to replace should something happen.

Most of my razors are in usable but not pristine shape. Like I said, I am an accumulator and not a collector. I love to use the 1910 Gem Jr. However, I don't want to use it that often because it is hard to replace if something happens. My Gem Deluxe has really bad plating issues. It is neat to use every now and then; however, if something happens it would be very hard to replace as well. I only recently was able to get the Rapide, so it has seen a bit of use in the last month. In general however, I tend to use the razors I have extras of or can replace more easily. So between the 4 injectors the C2 and the Pal don't get much use and the common G1 sees more use. The G-bars work great for me and I can replace them easily so they get used more often as well. I love my early model 1904 Valet and the nice shiny VB1, but I will usually use one of the common VC1 or VC2 razors instead when I reach for an autostrop. The 1912 Gems get a fair amount of use as well for the same reasons.
