Especially with smaller print and age, as many of us are finding out. Not to worry we all have are moments. Glad you were able to get a decent shave out of the injector after all. Due to my coarse grey hairs my shaves are night to day difference pre vs post shower unless I soften my beard prior to shaving with a warm face cloth and some sort of pre-shave prep.

I had a rough night last night. I loaded up my Red Tip and jumped in the shower. When I got out, I decided this morning required something special. Lathered up the MdC with my Thater and loaded my Gem 1912 Curved head. An excellent change of plans.

I'd really like to add the C3 to my collection. So far I haven't stumbled onto one yet.

Does two nice shaves with an E2 mean I've passed beyond "novice" with this thing? And I'm on day 4 with this blade and I got what I'm calling BBS today and found the E2 isn't the monster I thought it was. I guess it was me. But I was a little aggressive (i.e. "cocky and overconfident) and chased the baby all over the place. I caught him, but his nails need trimmed or something, because I got my BBS but had a half-dozen small weepers that I didn't notice until I was just about to leave the house and happened to look in a mirror.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys! I'm happy. :)

I had a fine shave this morning with my PAL. Light as a feather and easy to use a smooth comfortable shave. Just another great injector razor!

Gentlemen! I was wondering if I could recruit the expertise of this thread to helping me identify which type of Schick injector I have. Thanks to @clint64 and a generous gift I now have this great little razor. I used it a couple of times last month and enjoyed it, and will be using it a good bit in the future. I'd like to be able to refer to it by its appropriate title but I'm not sure specifically what it is. Clint and I think it's a G8 model through some internet research, but I know you guys can clear it all up!

What is the model? Can we determine the year?

    The overall razor:

    The back side:

The lighting is bad, but it says Made in USA. US Patents are 1806087 and 1969945.

I appreciate any insight and help you guys can provide. Thank you!!

That would be a G1. They were made between 1946 and 1953. If I remember right that is probably an earlier one as I think the later ones had a more square ferrule instead of the rounded one like yours has. @Billyfergie would be in a better position to say regarding that point. :happy088:

What blade are you thinking of using with it?

I have Schick blades in the silver injector box with 7 blades. Clint sent them along with the razor. I shaved with it twice now with good results.

I see @Karl G has already tightened you up with narrowing down a date of production....You said that you have gotten good results from it....Congratulations....It looks like you have a lovely example of the 'G' breed...They are all Great shavers....

Karl did a very nice, back-to-back comparison of all the 'G' types just very recently....Here is a link to the results: http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/injector-se-party.23113/page-299
Kick back and enjoy the read....All lovers of these lovely injectors will have fun reading and checking out the 'G'porn...:ban:
Let us know how you and your G are getting on....

Great Drawing you have as a background. Who drew it? My wife draws and paints, so I am totally into others who do that. Cannot even draw a stick figure.:(

I am happy to hear you have gotten some good shaves with your E. I do not think I will go back to shaving regularly with a DE. I LOVE injectors. Especially the E's. The lightest of touch will reward you handsomely.

Keep at it. We all get you t convert.

"Chasing the Baby" can be a most danderous game.....Baby Hunting is Big Game Hunting in these Woods....:scared007:and Hell Hath No Fury Like A Razor's Scorn....So it tis best to tread lightly and carry a sharp blade....Like @twhite said so eloquently above, "The lightest of touch......" (I can see, I'm gonna be plagerizing this one for awhile...lol)....

Glad you are warming up to the E2....I think in many ways those are the quentissential injectors....

The GEM 1912 has always been a 'Charmer'....especially the curved top for some reason....Gabe, we need a photo....

You all know that the 1955/58 Schick-Eversharp Hydro-magic would have to be my 'Highlander Razor' (there can be only one) if I was forced to make that decision....This would be for many reasons....Not enough room here to list my history with this razor on many different levels...

    To name just a few:
1: it always gives a mild but efficient shave, irrelevant of blade brand...
2: it was the first razor I ever saw my Pop shave with...
3: it was the razor my Pop gave me to learn how to shave with...
4: I used it thru my early 20's. To me it was what shaving was about..

There are many other reasons but this will do for now....
Here is my current incarnation of the Hydrozilla in a typical daily shave kit, that could be mine or one of my Pop's from many years ago.... only here my shave mug is one my wife gave me with a picture of my Dad's mug on it....This is how I remember him when I was growing up...You can see why I took whatever he had to say about Style to heart...He was a very stylish cat, very hip, intelligent and humorous....If he was around now he would be making this hang here with us...He always loved his quality shave time, always used a brush with lavish soaps, Guerlain or Floris EdT, but he always kept a soft spot for barber shop aftershaves aswell, like Clubman and Old Spice...and he was a Life time Schick Advocate....and definitely my main hero then and still....

This photo is new but will suffice today as a Throwback Thursday photo....Have a great shave today Pop...In paradise Personna 74 blade injectors never run out...Sounds a little like @Billyfergie 's Shave Cave.....}8^))
