Second shave with my "Single Edge " injector style razor. With the #3 "aggressive " plate this is an excellent razor for me. About like the G aggressive wise but completely different due to the weight and construction. Did I say excellent?Yes I did and yes it is.

    Second Stropping blade.

    Equipment.

    Razor: ER Streamline Stropping outfit.
Blade: Chess SE Stropping type blade (1)
Brush: JR 57 Maggard Synthetic Knot
Soap: KleanSpa The Shtik. Wood (Sandalwood, Amber, Musk and a touch of Vanilla)
Post shave: Witch hazel. KleanSpa Scent mist Wood

Tonight I decided to try a new blade. I got 10 shaves from my ER Corrux blade. Pretty good considering this was my first attempt a keeping a stropping blade alive. Anyhow I won a batch of these Chess blades and decided to give them a go. I opened ups pack and took one blade out. It had a nice coat of clear grease on the blade. one little spot of rust just off of the edge on the corner. These a a million times better than those supposed NOS Treets I bought a few weeks ago. (Got my money back by the way). I gave the blade 20 laps on the strop using the supplied strop from the ER kit. It is not the original, it is a Valet.I reconditioned it last weekend.

On to the shave. But first with some ramblings about the soap I am using.

There is a small store here in town that rents out a space for the lady that opened the KleanSpa store. Not sure how many locations there are. Only a few I believe. Anyhow my wife and I go by there on the weekend when I make here go with me on my razor searches. I have been talking to her for the past month about my shaving. She offers a couple of Shaving creams for men. A Sweetsmoke and the Wood. The cream is very slick when applied as a non lathering soap. It has Shea butter and a few other ingredients. It has left my face very soft and silky. Anyhow there is another fellow that goes there and wanted her to make him a hard soap in stick form. So when I went there today to buy the Wood shaving cream and Scent mist. She gave me a stick of the Shtik Wood to sample. This is a Glycerin based soap I believe.

    On to the shave.

The Streamline I only have 3 shaves on it. But the first 2 shaves gave me great results. For me better than my other SE's except for my British 1912. I will need to do a shave off one day between these two. I started off by wetting my face and then rubbing the shave stick over my face. I then took my brush and proceeded to start to lather my face. Much to my surprise it started making a nice slick lather almost instantly. After about a minute of face scrubbing I had a nice slick lather. I had 3 days of growth to mow thru. Needless to say I was a bit leery of my first stroke with this blade. All doubt was removed as soon as I started my pass. This blade sliced thru the growth with ease. I finished my first pass with 1 weeper. I sliced off a small bump on my chin.

For my second pass I applied a bit more of the shaving stick to my face. Then proceeded to lather for the second pass. Again this made a nice slick lather. By the end of my second lathering I knew I had enough lather for my third pass. My second pass XTG went excellent with reduction up there with the best. The second pass would have passed for a CCS allover. As I always do 3 passes on to the next.

The third pass I just used the lather that was on the brush. I did dab the tips of the brush in water to get the lather a bit thinner for my third pass. I prefer a nice thin lather on my third pass ATG. This seems to work well for me. My third pass went without incident. I finished with a DFS and no touchup. I was very pleased with the results tonight. Especially on three days growth.

I promised the lady at KleanSpa I would use The Shtik all this next week and give here my feedback. I am very pleased that it performed well the first time out. It would suck if it was not any good.

I am hopping to get at least 10 shaves from this blade. I will be sticking to just 2 or three razors on this one.

    Tonights shave

    IMG_20160626_014007.jpg
Tonight is the first time doing a cold water shave. Results were amazing. 3 pass shave routine and I'm BBS and refreshed. The Ogallala shave lathered up very well with a cold water soaked brush. I enjoyed the cold water shave tonight as its after midnight and its still over 75 degrees outside. Not to sure about it in January when its below zero outside I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Anyway on to tonights equipment.

Prep- Cold water wash cold towel.
    Razor- Schick Injector M3 Protector.
    Blade- Schick Twin (2).
Brush- Made Rite L1500 Pure Badger.
Lather- Ogallala Bay Rum Lime and Peppercorn soap.
Post- OSMA alum block and T N Dickinson's unscented witch hazel.
Very refreshing shave tonight. Riding the M train....:transport022: ...........

    Sunday Shave
    [IMG]
    Brush- RazoRock Tri-Colored
Razor- The Bunny with Wild comb and Schick Type G
    Blade- Schick (2)
    Soap- Stirling Barbershop
    Post Care- Crystal Alum
Thayers Witch Hazel with grapefruit EO and M-Bomb
    Pinaud Bay Rum
    Florida Water with M-Bomb

Final shave with the Bunny, it's been a pleasure to try and I'll miss it. Same equipment as the last shave except I switched sides. The Bunny got my left side, the Type G got the right. As usual, the Stirling produced a wonderful lather with possibly my favorite scent. I did three passes again and here's the result.
First pass was WTG with both and I had great reduction, I like how audible the Bunny is and how easy it is to clean out. The Type G makes it easier to get into tight spots because of its head size however I still prefer the Bunny. Second pass I went XTG, the Bunny finished this pass closer than the Schick. Third pass was ATG and I'm left with a BBS with the Bunny, DFS with the Schick. The Bunny just gets closer. There was a little bit of feedback from the alum on my left side, zero from the Schick. Even with the feedback the Bunny still wins. I'm definitely smoother on my left side. I think with a little cleanup I'd be BBS with the Schick so that is comforting me since the Bunny moves on tomorrow.
    Have a great day folks!
