A few minutes ago I completed a wonderful three pass shave with my PAL Injecto-Matic and TFS shave soap . The end result was a dolphin smooth finish. Have a great 4th guys and be safe.

Sorry about the late reply, I'm not much of a night person. I use an old dull kitchen knife. I slide it's edge between the spine and the blade. Usually doing so on one side will loosen it enough to slide off but if not then just do the other side as well

Here's a video from YouTube. You can skip ahead to 40 seconds in - and a regular pliers works just as well. :)

Was at an antique shop Saturday and handled a "made in England" Eversharp 1912. I found it to be less robust than my recent "made in Brooklyn" Gem 1912 and left it for someone else.

There is an easier way. Hold the blade in your left hand (assuming that you are right handed), with your right hand grasp the edge of the spine in the middle with a pair of pliers and flex back and forth once. Off it comes, just like that. This works best with individually wrapped blades.

    Blade: Schick Twin, Chick
    Razor: Schick L injector
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: Williams Mug Soap
Post: Witch hazel splash, Aqua Velva, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Happy Independence Day! A shave with classic American products in honor of today.

The Williams wanted to be difficult and pull the disappearing act today. I had several nice, stable lathers from Williams last month, but not as much luck today. It didn't disappear too quickly though and was actually pretty darn slick.

The Twin blade wasn't as comfortable today. I noticed debris caught between the two blades (hair and soap) and no amount of rinsing or swishing could dislodge it. So I finished the first pass and then ejected the Twin for a Chick blade. Finished up some generous touch-ups with the Chick blade with good success.

Good shave all in all. I'll stick with the Chick blade in the L-type injector for now.

    Have an enjoyable day everyone!

What's the general opinion of the personna twin injector blades? I bought a couple of injectors on eBay, and they are coming with a pack of nos personna blades in a plastic injector cartridge. Can you use them in a G-type?

Twins are a NO-NO in Gs and below. :sick013: The blades are too thick.

However, Personna Twins are great in the regular heads of the I or greater. By regular head I mean not the kind with the levers that open the heads for cleansing - e.g. the Hydro-Magic.

Dang, that means I don't have a razor to try them in...

Edit: unless a Hussy makes the cut?

I think the Hussy would work but I haven't tried it and don't know anyone who has. :signs002:

Quick, one-pass shave this morning. I had light beard growth due to shaving less than 24 hours ago. There are a few spots that are a little stubbly, but that's okay. I'm doing some painting and work in my new office so I don't need to be squeaky clean.

First use with a Stirling soap - WOW! I see what all the fuss is about. Beautiful lather, great slickness and protection, and wonderful post-shave feel. I really like the Barbershop scent, too. Great stuff! The Schick L with the Chick blade performed great again.

Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

I'm a big fan of the Barbershop scent as well. I'm glad it worked for you.
