Yeah - I went back and edited my reply after I posted to indicate the C2 is closed comb. The smooth guard or bar is what I have - a C3. :happy088:

    Wednesday Shave
    [IMG]
    Brush- RazoRock Tri-Colored
    Razor- GEM MicroMatic
    Blade- GEM (1)
    Soap- Stirling Barbershop
    Post Care- Crystal Alum
    Thayers Witch Hazel
    Bombed Florida Water

Oh no! I've fallen down yet another rabbit hole. @Linuxguile generously sent me the MicroMatic when I expressed an interest in trying a SE. I bought some GEM blades today and gave it a go. First, this razor has a lot of weight to it but it feels balanced in my hand. I had a few days growth to get through. I lathered the Stirling, love this soap, and made my first pass WTG. Very audible with significant reduction. It took me a few swipes to find the angle but there was zero tugging, I made sure to follow my friend Rob's advice and used very little pressure. Second pass was XTG, despite the large head it's maneuverable and I had a DFS. My third pass was ATG with zero hesitation by the razor, very smooth through my trouble spots. I don't know if I've ever had a closer shave. There was a little feedback from the alum but it settled quickly. I finished with Thayers and bombed Florida Water. I'm going to pay extra attention to my pressure next time but I'm very happy with the results. Have a great day folks!

Aye..The OCMM is a Well Behaved Razor with a Feather Like Touch..Another Razor that Gets Crazy Aggressive Reviews but its Sorta Middle of the Road in My Books..Just takes a Bit of Skill to Use is All..The Clog Pruf is Basically the Same Razor with a Guard Bar is All..:)

:signs154: I'm very happy it worked well for you Ben. My first SE shave I had some irritation because I wasn't light enough on the pressure. The SE blades don't flex in anyway, very stiff efficient blades so it's easy to over do it. :)

I can definitely see that happening as I used a light touch but still had some irritation. I'm hopeful that with a little practice I can avoid the irritation.

Thank you for the info on the Clog Pruf, I was wondering about that one. If this is mild I think I'm going to enjoy SE razors.

The OCMM is Not a Mild Razor its Just Not the Crazy Monster its been Made Out to Be in some Forums..The Ever Ready 1924 & 1914 are Far More Aggressive in My Books or Even a Brit Made 1912..:)
