What I did was with the blade tray removed I put some packing tape on the head/cap and with pliers pinched the little part above the handle and the cap together. Didn't seem like much but it did the trick. I hope that explains it. Just basically tightened it up. BTW it's a real nice shaver with the Schick blade.

I have that very same make and model razor up for sale on eBay for $20, if you're interested. And it's not replated.

I haven't Dug My Christy Out for Yonks..Anyway..An Injector Blade Seats to Perfection on those Knubs as You Can See on the Base Plate..With an NOS Schick Injector Blade its Actually One Almighty Shaver..The Keen Cutter Brand SE is Almost Identical but it Doesn't have those Knubs in the Base Plate to Secure the Blade..:D

I found it as is at my local antique store. It was $10 and grimy. A little elbow grease, and it cleaned right up.

Thanks - I've got a Christy that I picked up about a year ago ($10 incl shipping IIRC) and I never did much with it because I couldn't get an injector blade loaded to my satisfaction. This might do it.

Why am I not surprised that you have this already figured out! But yeah if you get a modern Schick blade secured in there then you have a damn fine razor to shave with! Um just how long is a "yonk"?

    Today's Shave: Sunday August 7, 2016

    Ever-Ready Streamline (newer version)
Gem stainless steel ptfe blade (1)
    The Grooming Co. synthetic brush
    Haslinger Schafmilch soap
    Aqua Velva Musk

I have a strange relationship with my Streamline (if it's even possible to have a relationship with an inanimate object). I break it out, marvel at the craftsmanship and finish, enjoy an incredibly close yet buttery smooth shave . . . and put it away for another six months or so. I cannot explain this behavior, as while shaving I keep asking myself why I don't use this razor more often.

It is indeed one beautiful razor set. The only other razor in my collection with this degree of craftsmanship is my C. V. Heljestrand. It is essentially a 1912 on steroids, weighing in at an even 3 ounces and finished with a gorgeous heavy chrome plating.

The Streamline simply owns the Gem SS ptfe blade - it is a match made in heaven. Harshness the first couple of shaves? No way. This morning I enjoyed one of the smoothest shaves ever, this with a brand new Gem SS blade.

The amazing thing is that despite all that smoothness the razor is really on the aggressive side - closer to a 1914 or 1924 than the other 1912's. The result is a super-close shave without the slightest hint of irritation.

I usually do a 3 pass shave, check my trouble spots while rinsing, and touch up where necessary. Today there was nothing to touch up. :happy108:

Truly a memorable shave - time to put the Streamline away.
