Hone up that blade and let us know how it goes. That's an awesome looking razor!

ATT SE1 with Hempel Ti handle is a better fit than the original ATT bamboo handle, which I find slippery when wet and very thin. IMO

Kinda reminds me of when Mongoose changed the lugs to be completely through the bottom plate to make it easier to load a blade and also loosen the head for rinsing. And you know what? It worked. While I am interested in this razor I'm just "not there yet " a little pricey and my Mongoose B3 in polished stainless is still the "king of the road " for me.

My J.A. Henckels Rapide arrived today. I feel like there is something amiss with the head. When the tension nut is fully tightened the spring that holds the blade forward comes nowhere near the head

I will take some pictures of mine. You should easily bend the spring to make good contact. I will post some in an hour or so.

By the way those blades look pristine.

I would use my wedge again tonight, but the shave was so good not enough to warrant one.

When I got this one I discovered that some idiot had almost completely straightened out the spring - don't ask me why. (I should have taken a "before" pic.)

It's not perfect, but at least it's functional now.

You'll need two pair of needle nosed pliers. I don't know what the metal is, but it bends fairly easily.

The good news is you got two great blades - that's huge. The spring can be repaired but if the blades are badly chipped . . . you're screwed.

Ohhh....he pulled the Mighty Mouse Card!!!! :smiley respect:
Well....It's like this....Somethings are just too honest and right for mankind as a whole....Injectors, SE's and Be-Bop Jazz are perfect examples...So the masters of the marketplace have brain-washed the public to not only except mediocracy....But to demand it...They want to send us off after whatever new thing they have for us to cop...And instead of inventing something really better...That would require real ingenuity...They have found it easier to "dumb us down" through advertising and marketing and sell us some BS that they know isn't as good...

So now the 'truth' has become a very valuable and precious commodity, and should be treasured whenever we find it...
Injectors, SE razors and Be-Bop Jazz are all inarguably the pure truth and those lucky enough to have discovered this are sort of a small brotherhood of truth seekers....and have discovered how to live a much enriched life...

So the fact that the truth will never be Top40 or Popular with the masses is a shame...But we shouldn't let that cramp our style....We just need to stick with what we believe in...and swing to the beat of a different drummer....and enjoy every minute....and don't buy into mass marketing hype ever again, now that we know a little about that scene...or enough to stay away from it...}8^))

Hope this answered your question without getting into a rant....
Now belly up to the Party Bar for a shot of menthol...and gentlemen.....start your lather...

A very enjoyable and relaxing shave this morning with the Schick Adj. injector loaded with a twin blade. Wonderful slick, rich lather from my Stirling Ozark Mountain homemade shave stick. Three routine passes for a dolphin smooth refreshing finish. Have a great day friends.

Thanks Bird! Excellent response and so well put!

Society has been brainwashed and accepts mediocrity instead of demanding excellence. I'm not falling for it and will never turn over my injectors, SEs and DEs! They'll have to pry them out of my cold stiff hands!

    Be-bop Jazz? Great stuff!
