Sunday Shave with PAL golden Injecto Matic.
Good result with Japanese Schick, but would like to try a Personna 74 which i believe is great.

Marvelous shave this morning with the PAL Injecto-Matic. Stirling Glacial MITA shave soap provided cooling, slick, rich lather on this hot and humid morning. Three easy breezy passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day friends. :)

I'm finding this G to be a bit on the aggressive side. Maybe it has something to do with these Chick blades. Don't know.

Sunday morning with a Schick Type H. I found the head design very much like the Bunny and the angle was easy to find. I was in a hurry and got a little aggressive, but no nicks, just a little irritation. Overall very nice shave!

YMMV but I find the Schick to be my least favorite blade in the G series. A Personna is a better match with a modified Feather being my favorite. It's worth experimenting if you have some other choices. :)

I think I will go ahead and switch over to a Personna.

Another excellent shave with the Personna Injector. 3 passes, but no ATG today but still ended with a close, comfortable shave. The Stirling face lathered perfectly with the JR boar brush.
I believe this may be my new favorite Injector, only time will tell. I love the handle, it is sleek but not slippery. And it is a great length for me. Despite being mild, it shaves very close and smooth.
    Have a great day folks!

    Today's Shave: Sunday August 14, 2016

    PAL Adjustable injector
NOS Schick Super Chromium blade (6)
    The Grooming Co. synthetic brush
    Haslinger Schafmilch soap
    Pinaud Clubman original aftershave

After yesterday's shave with the Injecto-Matic I figured I'd stay in a PAL groove and revisit the Adjustable today. This was really a groundbreaking razor - the Cobra Classic, Schick Type O and The Single Edge all appear to have been influenced by it. It is quite possibly the first razor to be made (mostly) of stainless steel. And it's a great shaver as well. The curved head makes the angle a little unconventional, but nonetheless I find it to be intuitive. Again I was able to get an excellent shave with two passes and a little touch-up.

If you've never tried one of these, you really owe it to yourself to sign up for the passaround elsewhere on the forum.

Nice write-up. I use straight razors on the weekend, so I'll be focusing on my recently acquired PAL adjustable this week. I'm looking forward to it.

Pardon my ignorance :ashamed001: but how do you modify a Feather for an injector? Thanks

Sit a Standard Blade on Top for Size & Cut it with a Sharp Pair of Serrated Edge Scissors ( Brand New for that Job Only) Load it into a Standard Injector Mag & Inject as Normal...Cut the End of the Blade that's Going into the Razor...It Goes into the Mag Easier..Get a Ruff Bit..Buff it with a Nail File..That's it..:)

    Easy Peasy..:angelic007:

Regarding GEM Damaskeene SE razors, I got doubly lucky with this recent purchase. The single edge GEM, STAR and Ever-Ready SE razors didn't generally hold their looks as well as a lot of Gillettes in my opinion... maybe not as strongly plated? I don't know. But I bought an old Damaskeene on eBay that looked bad but cleaned up as well as you see below... but that wasn't the best part  The best part was that it turned out to be an open-comb Damaskeene!!! :bounce017: You couldn't see that in the eBay pics, so it was a cool surprise. Those of you who aren't Damaskeene addicts probably think I'm nuts for going on about it, but the open-comb Damaskeenes are about as rare as hen's teeth as we say in the South ;) . The Damaskeenes are the best old SE razors in many of our opinions (except maybe the lathercatchers), and the open-combs seem a little more aggressive, but still very smooth shavers. OK, I'll shut up and stop celebrating now :bounce015:
