THAT'S the kind of irreverent stuff that was missing. I feel somehow better now. The universe is in balance once again.

My SE today was an SR!

The Charles Adam "Faultless" was at the top of the rotation this morning and it didn't disappoint! 2 1/2 passes later and I had a wonderful DFS!

OK, I'm gonna get into the S SE September just for the fun of it. I started in mid August, but that's ok, I'll start over. Here are my razors, I'm not going to use them in any particular order.

    Cased E2 (tab opens), E3, K2, Adjustable, G8, H "Hussey", B1, B2, 1912.

I'm going to be traveling for work again next week and want to take an SE, so I wanted to make sure my best performer was still just that. There was no doubt, excellent results.

What a fantastic Saturday morning shave with the 1912! A fresh GEM ptfe blade and the Chiseled face lather left my face feeling polished. I love this old beast! Have a great weekend everyone!

Postman showed up as I was walking out the door. So I only had a short visit with my newest tools. New to me Type G (?) , and a soap that looks like it wants a badger brush - Cella!

    Brush- AOS Fine Badger
    Razor- GEM MMOC/GEM 1912
    Blade- GEM
    Soap- WSP Blackbeard
    Post Care- Crystal Alum
    Thayers Witch Hazel
    WSP Blackbeard with menthol

Second go with these razors and we have a winner for this round. First, this was my first try with WSP products and I'm impressed. The soap lathered easily once I got the water figured out, it's a little on the thirsty side. I used the MMOC on my left side and the 1912 on my right. First pass I had fantastic reduction from both sides, equal feel and both of these razors sing. Second pass was the same, third pass wasn't really necessary since it's the weekend but I did it anyways. I'm dolphin smooth all over. The alum is going to decide the winner today. I sprayed on some Thayers and rolled the alum on. No feedback on my upper lip, zero above the jawline, my neck will decide it. First the MMOC side, completely silent. Then the 1912 side, a slight tingle which normally wouldn't have mattered but today it decided it. The winner of the first round of razors, the GEM MMOC. I finished up with the WSP Blackbeard with menthol. Fantastic scent, strong menthol which felt great. If the scent lasts this is going to be a winner. Have a great day folks!

    SOTD September 3, 2016

    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM Featherweight
    Brush: Semogue 1520 boar
    Lather: Williams Mug Soap
Post: Witch hazel splash, Florida Water, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Pretty good shave with Williams and the GEM Featherweight. Williams is really slick soap, but it wanted to pull the Houdini act today and vanish. I still want to conquer this soap and will continue to fiddle with it from time to time. I think of the keys is actually to start with a dry or mostly dry brush. Soak the soap but then use a dry brush.

Regardless, a pretty good shave this morning. Hope you all have a great weekend!

They just keep getting better and better... I personally don't care for steampunk but these are cool razors.
