We have a decision from yesterday and to be perfectly honest I am shocked at the results. The first day of shaves had the Schick E3 narrowly beating the PAL MicroMatic. Yesterday's shave was too close to call however as the day went on the winner became more and more apparent. Almost 24 hours later you can visually see the difference, the Schick shaved closer than the PAL. Up next the Schick will take on the PAL adjustable. Have a great day folks!

Nice shave this morning. First time using Italian Barber's L'Americano soap. Good stuff! Beautiful scent that matches Fine American Blend. Good performance from the soap. The GEM Pushbutton performed well again.

    Have a great day!

Yes yes yes! As you all know, the soap and AS is awesome. Only thing changed from yesterday was the razor itself. Same blade, drugstore GEM, shave#2. There was alot more singing from the blade today than yesterday in the 1914. Also didn't seem as smooth. So, I'm not sure if it's the razor or the blade. Overall another good shave, no nicks, irritation, or stinging.

Lord, the double-injector-blade alt-Fergiebilly-shimmed 1914 is a thing. For me night and day improvement over the unshimmed 1914. Exponential. Consequential. YMMV but I doubt it. Keeper.

Excellent shave with the GEM G-Bar this morning. Wonderful, creamy, slick lather from the KMF shave cream. Three passes and some touch ups for a dolphin smooth and refreshing finish. Have a great day friends. :)

I'm really enjoying my shaves with the Pushbutton. It's a fun razor but seems to be a little more efficient for me than the Featherweight. I need to go back to the Featherweight again for a comparison soon. The PTFE blade has felt really smooth on each shave. All in all the Pushbutton and PTFE combo has offered great shaves this week.

The L'Americano soap is a perfect match to Fine American Blend. The scents from this combination are really nice. Smooth shave in the end.

    Have a great day!

    Stirling 24mm Synthetic
    Dr. Jon's Hydra
Tangerine AS and Nivea Sensitive ASB

Good morning friends. The Pal Adjustable once again delivered an absolutely flawless shave this morning. This shave was so smooth that I couldn't even tell that there was a blade in the razor. There was no feedback either audible or tactile, the only evidence that the Pal was doing its job was when I rinsed the head and saw the whiskers running down the drain. Hydra is such an awesome smelling soap and if you love raw citrus I'm not sure you could do much better then Hydra. I keept the citrus punch going with my homemade tangerine AS and used a drop of Nivea to make things silky smooth. What a fantastic start to the day! Have an awesome day my friends!

So, just how many shaves can be expected from a GEM blade? Today was #3 for the blade and #2 in this razor. The first shave with this blade was in my 1914 and it was an amazing shave. Both shaves in this razor were a bit rough and took alot of buffing and touchups. No irritation, nicks, etc. Just not as smooth. I can't believe the blade is only good for one shave, so tomorrow I'll put it back in my 1914 for one final shave(#4) to see, then I'll toss the blade and move on..

The blade we love to hate, spined and double shimmed in the 1912 fer three passes o'shits and giggles. Pretty good shave actually, less irritation than the last couple rounds with Gems. Go figure. [IMG]
