The thick blade reduces flex I think, kinda wish the thicker feather straight blade would fit the Cobra Classic

I used it with a PAL super. I think they are carbon blades, could not be happier with the shave.

I see, probably explains why I like to shave with my straight too. I my facial hair is not dense but the hair follicles are coarse. The thick blade is better on my skin and doesn't catch on my whiskers as easily

I'm a man of my word. It's temporary home until I put another hook up. Haha, my mom thinks I'm a nut, although my Dad understands the humor of it and appreciates my dorkiness.

Today I stumbled upon the only (to my knowledge) drug store in my area that still sells Schick injector 7 blade mags. They ask around $5.50 for them. Didn't buy any as I don't need any...I do not know anymore if that's even a good price. Good to know they're still around, though.

That's a good price as far as I'm concerned, it's roughly what I can get them for around here.

Fine price...some cats will pay a dollar a blade for Schicks...and save them for special occasions...;)

Had my first injector shave today with a Schick E-type and Personna Platinum Chrome Blade. The razor is a lot lighter than my DE's and I wasn't sure I'd like that but it did make it easy to avoid putting pressure on the blade. When I first started shaving and probably for about 10 years, I used Bic disposables quite a bit. The injector definitely seems similar but with much more aggression than I remember from the Bics. Overall, I really liked the way it handled. I'm probably going to keep using it all week or at least until this blade gives out.

I agree with the injector just feeling familiar to a cartridge razor. Really easy to use, would be great when your in a rush for a quick shave. I do prefer the shave from my Gem/Ever-Ready 1912 though when I have the time. (It has 1912 patent written on the bottom, but I'm not sure if that's the qualifier).

Still need to try my Gem. So many razors, so little time :) I think my RAD will start to calm down now though. I've got razors that I may never get around to using so probably time to quit buying them for a while.

1912, micro-matics, streamlines, and lather catchers, all meet the criteria of being 'extreme' and even 'severe boat floaters...'....I've seen a couple lather catchers that fall into the 'to die for' catagory....If I found myself in possession of one I would have to stock pile 20 years worth of blades...but then ...what if nature was cruel and I lived longer than that......might be hard to get Gem blades 20 years from now......maybe I'll have a physical and see what the Doctor says...Maybe 30 years worth to be sure...I can always leave them to some lucky shaver...:happy093:

DISCLAIMER....The following is a feeble attempt at humor with many truths...I know both you guys as valuble additions to out Injector & SE community....
Schick.....Bic Disposable....."Bite your tongue..."...:kar:I'll agree...they both have a sharp edge that can cut you...and ...they are not all metal....but then a Bic and an M1 rifle with bayonet share those same attributes....:happy097:
Hey Man!! Maybe a good injector might remind you of a cartridge razor because they are so easy but.....THE COMPARISON STOPS THERE !! :happy102: .....

These guys were WWII issue to Naval and some Army personnel....They were patented in the 1920's....They have a blade similar to a short segment of a Straight-8....and as far as I'm concerned meet all the criterior of being "Too Cool For School'....I sincerely believe Col. Schick was a genius....and where King Camp was a marketing inventor who revolutionized marketing with the whole 'lost leader' thing...Col. Schick was an artist, whose vision was so far ahead of his time....no ones caught up yet....His repeaters are still ahead of 'this' time....The injector was assassinated for corperate interests....and the beauty of some of the Injector designs have to be included with the Sistine Chapel, the Aston Martin DB7, and the combination of Beer, Football & Pizza, as mankind's greatest artistic achievements....

I don't know. Bic seems like it copied a lot of the traits of the injector. They just made it much more mild and used a lot more plastic. The efficiency of the Schick injector is miles ahead I'll agree. I noticed on my WTG and XTG passes with it yesterday that it removes whiskers so quickly, there was no need to hit any spot twice like I seem to have to do with the DE quite a bit. Of course I wasn't really going for a BBS, just getting used to the razor a little.

One thing I have to correct myself on too. The razors I got are G-types, not E's. I saw some pics of E's and mine looked like that so I thought that's what I had too. After doing a little more reading on them, the G does look pretty much the same but there are some differences. The G is apparently more common and less aggressive (which are both fine with me). This G type is aggressive enough for me. I can't see any need for much more.

Here she is. Had to take a pic after the shave today. I think that was maybe the closest and most comfortable shave I've ever had. :) Still a bit of room for improvement on the chin and jawline but for the second shave with an injector, it was awesome. I hardly ever do ATG passes on the weekend but wanted to give it a shot before I do it on a workday and happy I did.

Cool Photo...See...I Think its a very classic and romantically 'from another era long ago...' looking...and I also strongly feel that beauty is as beauty does...Which makes this razor gorgeous....:happy108: That also applys to other SE's aswell, although nothing gets around my nose and other obstacles as well as an injector for me...and a straight 8...
