Thank you! It is a great shaver, especially when in a bit of a hurry.

Question: How many shaves on the average does a SE blade produce? ex: Personna Gem blades.

    Today's shave: Sunday November 13, 2016

Ikon El Jefe w/Maggard Razors MR1 handle
    Feather Professional blade
    Ľ Occitane Plisson synthetic brush
    Arko soap
Chiseled Face Groomatorium Ghost Town Barber aftershave

I'm on a weekend getaway that doesn't involve flying, so I'm trying out El Jefe as a travel razor. It fits nicely in the case that came with my Schick O clone and the Feather Pro is good for several more shaves so I won't have to mess with changing the blade.

El Jefe is aggressive enough to provide a great shave with only two passes and smooth enough to avoid weepers and irritation even in the confines of a hotel bathroom.

I like Arko as a travel soap. The puck packs nicely and it lathers easily even in hard water. Synthetic brushes are definitely the way to go for travel. A little plastic bowl for lathering and a Muhle brush case round out my travel setup.

I've been using this for the past few days and enjoying some great shaves.

I don't know that I can give you an average, but I had one last for 27 shaves. The only reason I had to throw it out was that I accidentally dropped it while swapping razors, and it happened to fall right on the edge.

Alumigoose ~ Flashy FinWrks Finest ~ Stirling Ben Franklin soap and splash

What a difference a day makes. I put a Pro Super blade in the Alumigoose and screwed on a longer heavy brass handle. I managed a really nice shave. Night and day difference from yesterday's. Next time around I am going to try it with a shorter handle and see if it was just the blade, or the leverage or both. Either way, I am happy as a clam. The little Goose is a good shaver.

Hope you all have a good next week at the grindstone.

You'll get a wide range of answers to that. Part of the equation is how many passes you do when shaving. I consistently get 5 shaves from both Schicks and Personnas - and I am a three pass plus touch up shaver. :git:

I usually get eight or nine three pass shaves with Personna injector blades before switching. Just want to nget an idea about thier blades that I use in Gem razors. Only went four so far on them.

GEMs for me make it to four and that's it. I think that is more or less the norm. :chores016:

Had my fourth or fifth , lost track, shave today on one and it was a bit, let's say, had more irritation on it and probably will be the last shave on it. Thinking one more will probably be pushing it too far.

Excellent shave with the PAL Injecto-Matic this morning. Wonderful lather from the trusty old Proraso shave cream. Three passes for a refreshing dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day guys. :)

    Blade
    : Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick G1 injector
    Brush: Vulfix 2006c badger
Lather: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD Iced Yin Yang, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

The G1 mowed down two days' growth with efficiency and ease. Stirling's Margaritas in the Arctic provided some nice chill to start the work week. It was refreshing but fairly cold for me. Nice shave all in all.

    Have a great day!

Mickey Lee ~ The Drunken Goat
    Stirling Sandalwood

I finally got my twin blades in the mail from Japan. They sure let the lion out of the cage. Super close shave, and they give the M a little blade feel, which I like. Very similar to an E.

Mickey Lee is great soap, and makes tons of shiny, gloppy, yogurty lather. The Drunken Goat smells a little like marzipan, almost Cella-ish, but reminds me of cookies baking. The Stirling Sandalwood followed it nicely; not a match, but a good pair to finish a great shave.

    Good night, All.
