Injector & SE Party !!!

Hi Guys. It has been a few months. I am hooked on Straights. It is a serious drug. Anyhow I decided to do a finish pass tonight with my SE wedge. This beauty did not disappoint. The last pass with it left me silky smooth.

Just so you know these wedges are a gateway razor. BEWARE.

Actually I am defying all odds and succeeding a bit. I would have to count, but I know I have at least seven less than I had at Christmas. Another seven or eight more, and I will be at fighting weight.

GEM Featherweight this morning. It's been a while since I've used this razor. It was smooth and comfortable today. I have a Pushbutton as well and like them both. Great lather and performance from Fine Platinum soap. Really a nice shave overall.

Yeah, no kidding. Actually, I hit it pretty hard last winter. It is maybe half gone, so in ten or twelve years.

 

Haha! Yeah, it looks a little unappetizing. I chopped it up in fairly big chunks and pressed it into that glass bowl. The top will smooth out with some more uses!

 

Hehe yep. Trimmed Super AC blade, set in a GEM spine in a 1912. Best to trim the blade slightly wider than a standard injector because of the rounded corner. I use a trimmed refrigerator magnet behind the blade to keep it from floating back under the cap. Works a bit better than a thick injector. Once secured it does stay that way just fine. Only seems to work in the 1912 but it gives a great close shave (better than a GEM on my head shave). I liked this blade in the General but I did not enjoy the wide blade on my head shave. This is very satisfying. No irritation, no weepers, no leftover stubble.

The J1 worked quite well today. The Nomad soap may be a different story as it felt overly drying to my skin. I'll have to try it again to see if that repeats. My neck feels a little raw today. But all things considered it was a decent shave.
