    Blade: Kai Captain Mild
    Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk
Brush: Two band badger with Surrey handle
Lather: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
Post: Witch hazel splash, Stirling Executive Man aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Really nice shave with the Black Hawk again. I really like this razor even though my injectors are all staring at me forlornly. I'll get back to them soon enough. Incredible lather from Stirling's MITA. All around a really nice shave.

    Have a great day!

Another great shave with my G-Bar. For my last pass I got out the MMOC to compare. A few strokes in and I said to myself, "Oh hell no!". Afer a bit more effort I finished with the G-Bar. I like more aggressive DE razors, but the aggressive SE razors just do not agree with me. The 1912 and G-BAR are nicely smooth, the MMOC is nasty. Just too much blade. Now my face hurts.

I'd like to try a G-Bar for comparison. I had similar feelings with the MMOC. It was just too harsh for me. I ended up selling it.

Perry, do you notice any significant difference between EM an Fine Platinum ?

The scent is almost a complete match. There is perhaps a little more depth in Executive Man. I like the menthol touch of Fine Platinum, but I could get menthol with Executive Man if I ordered a full bottle. I just have a sample at the moment.

I would say they are quite similar but Stirling is a little more deep and complex.

The Razorock Classic Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #144 finest badger brush. I did two passes the Gem Push-Button and CVS SE blade, I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Pinaud Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Razor: Supply Provision Custom 3 dot head
    Blade: Chick
    Brush: That Darn Rob silvertip
    Soap: L&L Grooming Marshland
    Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Osage Rub
    Alum
    Aftershave: Tallow and Steel Rainforest

A couple of firsts in this mornings shave. First use of L&L and Tallow and Steel and my first use of a silvertip brush. I really enjoyed the Marshland soap; easy lather, slick, protective and with a great scent. The Tallow and Steel complemented the soap wonderfully and has great post shave feel. I really enjoyed using the brush; the handle has a nice feel, it's a perfect size for face lathering and lots of backbone. Very different from my synthetics but worth getting nailed down. All in all it was a great way to start the day. Have a great day folks!

March 8, 2017- And now for something completely different...

    Razor: M3 Schick Adjustable (4)
Blade: Personna Mini Hair Shaper (1)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Soap: Cella

The last time I was at the local beauty supply store, I noticed that they sold the Personna Mini Hair Shaper blades for what seemed a decent price. I ended up going back last night and picking up a pack, *carefully* transferred several over to an empty Schick injector, and loaded up the M3 for today's shave.

Plenty of lather from the Plissoft and the Cella. This is one of my last chances to use a soap for a while as wife and daughter are coming home Friday evening. (DD's therapy/rehab has gone very well. Thank you all again for your thoughts and well wishes.) All-in-all, a pleasant, effortless shave. Two passes and the baby (or was it the dolphin) was in the room. Cool Alum and a splash of Witch Hazel and I'm set for the day.

I'm definitely curious to see how the Personna blades work out over the long haul. Until now, I've only used the Chicks so I don't have a lot to compare with. (Some day I'll get around to picking up some Twins. :)

Any know if the Personna Mini Hair Shaper blades are different then the Ted Pella's ?

Got an amazing shave from the Gem OCMM this morning. The Gem razor provides the perfect blade angle, making it easy to obtain a two pass BBS. The only thing I can complain about is the difficulty right under my nose.

Ted Pella is just a distributor of rebranded Personna blades. Personna MHS are same as Ted Pellas without the key on the magazine.

You've got me wondering about that.

Looking at the AccuTec website, it appears that the Mini Hair Shaper blades are "Comfort Coated" (like the Personna DE blades) while the regular Hair Shaper blades are "Glide Coated".

By comparison, the generic Personna DE blades are just listed as "Coated" and the Ted Pella Injector blades are listed as "PTFE-Coated".

I think we can safely assume they are the same except, possibly, for the coating. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find anything to indicate whether Comfort Coating is just a fancy (tm) for PTFE.

I can't imagine they would change production processes. I have to believe the magazine is the only difference.
