You've been sorely misinformed sir. That's my second favorite razor to this one. Every razor has a sweet spot, some have less margin for error. :)

With all your experience with exotic razors....you just need a minute to bond with the beast! That was the one place that took me a minute...For me, I ended up moving my nose up and to the side with my left hand, and maybe a little XTG buffing....and NO ATG under the nose with the OCMM!

It also took me a couple shaves to get BBS on the bottom lip soul patch area...With the MM, that area wants to either get razor burn or no BBS, one or the other...Thats where negative pressure and XTG buffing came in...

    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM Pushbutton
    Brush: Semogue 1520 boar
Lather: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
Post: Witch hazel splash, Stirling Executive Man aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Nice shave with the Pushbutton this morning. Easy and efficient. Good lather from Stirling but not as decadent as the past couple of days. Still a nice shave overall.

    Have a great day!

Breaking out the Bunny with the NOTSO comb.

The VDH Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #144 finest badger brush. I did two passes the Bunny V3 and Ted Pella Injector blade, I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Pinaud Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Honestly the only other razor that I have that I can use a Gem blade in is the Henckels Rapide, and that is infinitely more aggressive then the shovelhead. I will say that a two pass DFS is not out of the question with it and it doesn't feel overly harsh.

+1, I love my Pal Adjustable. You just gotta find the "Shy Girl" and when you do she will blow your mind.

I find the PAL Adjustable to be a little frustrating. There is little to no audible feedback. The angle isn't nearly as intuitive. It does provide a really close shave but I haven't hit my groove with it yet. I need to get it back out soon and give it another go. It sure is a beautiful razor.

She is very quiet at the optimum angle and the window is shallow. but when you are in the zone she is amazing.

Has anyone used both a PAL and Schick adjustable to compare the shaves. I have a Schick M but no PAL adjustable.

As others have said, "catching the shy girl" is the trick with the PAL Adjustable. There isn't a lot of audible feedback and the sweet spot is not as wide but it truly excels when you have it. If it wasn't for the combo of twin blades with a Schick Adjustable it wouldn't even be close. I'd still pick the PAL Adjustable over the Schick with twins but admittedly that's partly due to looks. YMMV, of course. :happy088:
