Is that an injector blade? Also, what do the numbers represent ? I've seen the numbers 1-3

Standard injector blade (Personna for the record).

The two sides of the blade are numbered 1 and 2.

The razor model, No. 3 in this case, is visible on the shoulder where the spine rests.[IMG]

No fancy procedure, just need to remove the stock blade from it's spine as you would a Gem blade using a couple pliers. It's no walk in the park, I did break the blade before finally getting it out but ultimately was able to. The injector is a tight fit but I didn't have to modify the spine to get it in.

What else today on one of its patent Days.
Ever Ready 1924 with S/S Handle. Shaves so smoothly IMHO with the addition of a 1/2 Spine Shim.

Beautiful set up. I will be shaving with one of these before work tonight. Got to try it out before putting it up for a new to SE PIF across the street. I have never found a need to shim a razor. What does it do for the shave?

As the original blades had a thicker spine, in theory adding a 1/2 spine shim under a current blade helps recreate a similar angle to the original. Various views on this, but it works for me, as I get really smooth yet close shaves from the 1924, yet others think it is a harsh aggressive Razor.
Enjoy the weekend, and your Shave with the 1924

I find that with a shim in my 1912 I can shave with the head pretty much flat on my face. I also find that blade chatter (the 'buttering toast' noise loved by many) is greatly reduced. I have explained the geometry behind shimming here.

The L'OCCITANE Cade Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh TSD boar brush. I did two passes the H. Böker 5/8, I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Full beard and head shave with the DeHaven 3, Personna injector, AOS Sandalwood. As Tom found in his DeHaven, an aggressive shave but smooth going on the beard. The handle is awkward for the grip changes the head shave requires and it was tricky to maintain proper angle so not as easy there but ultimately a fine shave. [IMG]

Would be more photogenic with a pre-55 solid injector blade, may have to give one a try for kicks. Rather exciting to be the first member of the DeHaven Head Shaving Society probably since the FDR administration.

Folks interested in these should be clear that the early models require an adapter like Tom has fashioned. The model(s) with the clips, as in my Model 3, require no adapter but if the blade breaks in the spine when you try to remove it you could be shit out of luck, proceed with caution.

Amazing shave this morning. I used a small sample of the MDC Fougere from the soap pass around box and had lather for days. It has a great scent, protective and very slick; I can see why people like this soap so well. It's a shame it's not for sale anymore. Three easy passes for a BBS shave. I finished up with the Fine Green Vetiver and although I love it, it didn't match the complexity of scents the soap had. Have a great day folks!

Nice and easy shave with the Schick Adjustable. Used setting 6 for the WTG pass and then bumped it up to 7 for the touch-up. Really easy to use, smooth, and comfortable. Quite enjoyable. Have a great day!
