Since I know jack about this type of razor, I'm assuming I lay the blade in the tray and snap the lid closed?
Also I see where Walgreens sells GEM single edge blades. So I guess I'll be checking at my local to see if they have 'em.

Yep, just lay the blade in there against the blade stops and close.

I just completed my fourth shave with the Supply Single Edge (thanks to @PickledNorthern). I have no other SE to compare with, though I have many years of wet shaving behind me.

I understand the hype and excitement about this razor. It really is beautiful to look at and feels great in my hand (I'm used to heavier razors as I typically use an adjustable DE). The first shave I used the classic configuration with the supplied Personna blade; I switch to the three dot for the second shave, using the same blade. For the next two shaves I used the three dot configuration with a Schick blade.

The results improved with each shave, with mostly BBS (3 passes) on the last shave except a small problem area under my jaw and chin. Those areas are also my touch-up areas with my DE (Parker Variant recently). But with a little work, I typically can achieve BBS, or damn close. I think once I manage this razor's idiosyncrasies, its performance will match the Parker.

One thing I noticed, this razor is extremely comfortable and efficient on that first pass. With a decent slick, cushiony lather, there isn't much feedback, the razor glides effortlessly, but reducing beard more than I realized. For those interested in a decent one-pass shave, the Supply is unsurpassed in my experience.

I'm not one for rotations, so it's a bit of a dilemma how to provide this fine razor with regular work.

Your In New Jersey. If you have a Shop Rite nearby, you can get a 10 pack of Gem Personna SE blades for $4.29.

    Welcome to the club!

    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick E2 injector
    Brush: Surrey badger
    Lather: Stirling Sandpiper
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Sandpiper aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Schick E2 this morning. Nice results - smooth and comfortable. It took care of two days' growth with no problems. Great lather from Stirling didn't hurt of course, and the finish from the aftershave is always nice. This is a good way to start the week.

    Have a great day!

DeHaven Model 3 / Plus Plat today with results from the Diplomat shave yesterday fresh. Nod for smoothness I'll give to the Diplomat but not much difference in terms of efficiency, beautiful BBS beard and head shave. Cold water, diy preshave and Il Cloniali soap (My Father's Face #4). [IMG]

Thanks! I did two or three hot water soaks and some toothbrush work. Also used Scrubbing Bubbles once or twice. She works quite well!
