I will get to using it soon. I've got a good blade still in my Hydro-magic so I've been using it. As soon as it's gone I'm going to load this one up.

I'm behind these guys 100% and dig what they are doing...But personally I'm very much into the romance of using these razors from another era....There's something about dragging a 100 year old razor across your face and getting such fabulous results that can't be beat for me...When I use a modern razor like a micromatic I have to sell myself on what a marvel of engineering it was...so I still dig it even though it's such a youngster...;)

Shaved with a Clog Pruf MM today....This really is one "Perfect Razor" if there ever was one...Gem sure got everything right on this one...Razorx used the phrase "caught lightning in a bottle" very effectively when discribing the Hydro-magic...Well I'm borrowing that phrase to say...:"Boy, Gem sure caught lightning in a bottle when they came up with the 'Clog Pruf'' micromatic"....just sayin'

I'm with you. I put a new carbon blade in my Gem micromatic last night and mowed my mug, I love that thing. Looks as good as one of my new ones, someone took really goog care of it. I found a gold clog pfoof at the same place I found the Roll Razor, csnt wait to try it.
I am very excited about the Huntlee, I am crazy about the old stuff but the idea of a modern se is somthing I must have.

I agree about the CP being such a great razor, it seems to have the perfect combination of smoothness, efficiency and coolness.

    Sorry for the picture quality...there isn't any...lol
But this is one great razor who deserves a much hipper photo tribute than this but she absolutely rocks...if you haven't checked one of these out, you owe it to yourself...

This sweetheart, is going on 100 years old and consistently delivers effortless 2+ pass BBS shaves...and looks so good while doing it too...;)This was one of the razors the U.S. and English Armies were issued during WWI. I know those Dough-boys had it rough in those trenches but they sure had some great shaving kit. I don't believe anything has surpassed these or the Gem Damaskeenes for making clean comfortable shaves so easy; in the last 100 years...;)

Ok, here is my clean Se collection so far. I have 3 older ones and the rolls (got her down to $22.00 on the rolls) but they are the shovel looking ones and are super funky.nIll post those when I get them cleaned up.
Also the clog proof cleaned up nice but still has a tiny bit of either rust or discolored finish. If it is rust is it safe to use? It didn't come off with scrubbing bubbles and dawn scrub.
If not, what do I use to get it off without ruining the gold finish?

Made a decision today, I'm going to have the 2 Gems replated.
    Who do I use?
The silver one looks like brand new but the gold one I just cant seem to get clean.
If I do them both, I'll have a sweet set of brothers for my den.

some members seem to recommend Reliable Electroplating and West coast Razors.

Have you tried some metal polish on the gold one? If it's got gold plating on it, it should shine up pretty easy so I'm guessing the plating's gone and you've got brass there? If so, a metal polish that works on brass should shine it up but it won't stay that way for very long. Nice razors BTW!
