A pot holder from a magic loom, my grandfather got one for both my sister and I, when we were little, and I got one for my daughter when she was little. Kids do grow up so fast, seems like yesterday I was holding her fresh from the cabbage patch, and this coming year she'll be a senior. Congrats on her being a grad you must be proud! She have plans to continue on with school or?

Thanks! I sent the razors and a pen blank (snakewood) to him and Bob did the rest. He did a great job. He made both handles from one pen blank.

Good Luck with the Dovo. It's a little lite as shavettes go, but with the right technique it can deliver.

That by far is one of the nicest looking handles I've ever seen. Well done.

He did a great job, both of you should be proud. Him for his work, you for the AWSOME razors in your collection. Hope to see more of your collection soon.

Definitely getting jealous of all the custom SEs! I tried a Gem Junior w/ the short metal handle the other day. I didn't get the best results, but it could have been either the blade or technique. I've been using the Gem Blue Star blades and the first shave is great but not so much after. It may be the humidity working against the carbon steel, i don't really know. I am going to get the stainless blades next and see how they work for me.

My first Gem Blue Star blade was the only one I've seen that appeared to have rusted noticeably immediately after the first shave, before I even had a chance to pat it dry. Taking a tip from someone else, I put a little mineral oil on my palm, and palm stropped the next one before the shave, patted it dry and palm stropped the same way afterward. That got it to last for three shaves, and I used up the pack that way. I think the stainless ones are definitely better, though. I get 4-5 shaves from them, and have pushed one to 6.
