I have method for croaps, spoon some out and press it in the bottom of a bowl, bloooom it .. than mash away with a damp brush... I use a LOT of product, i have extra lather everytime.. so not for the frugle shaver, but i got soap that will last 25 years and I do not mess around! haha

A follow up to using an N3 with a Twin Blade. Quite interesting with a single blade, though not aggressive I really like the degree of blade feel which allows you to determine the progress of a Shave. An excellent Shave, but I think A Twin Blade might get a bit closer on the chin, elsewhere really smooth and close. Will be a few more Shaves before I move on to a Twin Blade.

I finally managed to get hold of a Sabre (Level 1) and I must say that the wait has been worth it.

I used it for the first time last night and was very impressed with it. It is by far the smoothest GEM razor I've ever used (and I've used most ER models out there) and put the pass around Rocnel SE-G I'm currently using to shame. :)

Rocnel se g is a agressive shave and works great for me, very efficient. the sabre takes twice the effort. YMMV

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Fine Snake Bite Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #241 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem 1911 Lather Catcher with an Original Gem Cutlery SE and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I almost did not shave today because I have contracted a cold, and today I woke up with a sore throat and sore all over. I am glad I did go ahead and shave. I am not ready to take on the world, but I am ready for a great day of rest.

Awww Man!!! Sorry to hear that, my friend! Get better soon...

Double up on the echinacia, no kidding, echinacia REALLY works...eat hot soup....

Another blast from the past (like wet shaving) that deserves consideration....THE HOT TODDY: I've discovered lately that a tea made with Ihlamur tea, grated ginger, crushed cinnamin bark, a little lemon juice (1/2 lemon squeezed) and 5 or 6 cloves...boil 10 minute...pour....add honey and 1 1/2 or 2 oz of a good Scotch makes the cold much more bare-able...If you drink enough cups, you'll forget you even have a cold, ha,ha,ha.....And a cup when you come in out of the cold at night can help from catching another cold too.

I whole heartedly agree with you on the shave making a cold more bare-able aswell :happy088:

This is my newly acquired 1914 (#4) on it's maiden voyage after cleaning. I just scored 2 of them cheap from the bay, one of which will be a Christmas present for a friend.
