At work it's dark roast Community... At home it is a dark roast with chicory. There are several good ones in the grocery. I sometimes mix a bit of cafe bustelo expresso ground in for a kick.

I am not cutting the length of the handle, the N1 though designed for use with a Twin blade operates very
nicely with a Schick Proline blade. Smooth shaving action and positive blade feel. yields close all round Shave.

Still traveling and have had a few more shaves with the C3/Swedish Stainless blades. Absolutely top notch shave. Sticking with the two pass XTG/ATG combo. Same shave quality as my traditional three pass but quicker and weepers are rare. :happy036:

A big thank you to @jmudrick for the inspiration to use the Mark Cross!
This razor was part of a lot purchased earlier this year. It was tweaked, had an NOS blade that didn’t fit, and I thought it was a lost cause.
I saw his SOTD & found his thread on the razor’s history, and I had to give it a another shot. Applying about 30 minutes of “metal manipulation,” it was able to hold a blade... sort of. :)
Saw in another post he used tape around a blade for a head shave with this razor, so I gave it a shot and it worked! Figured it was safe enough to try a shave, and its maiden voyage is now complete. I still have some work to do but it gave me an acceptable shave. Thanks again for all of the information @jmudrick!

    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Lucky Tiger

I took the plunge and shortified my Schick 500. It was just too long for me. I may shortify it a bit more, but we will see how this goes.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Jeeves of Hudson Street Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Frank Shaving Badger brush. I did two passes with the Schick J Golden 500 with a Personna blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I don't care what others might say. This handle is GREAT on the 1900 Superior. I'm sure this razor may at one time had a similar handle on it that is now lost to time. It looks good too. Now onto the shave. I did a two pass shave that left me with a Damn Fine Enjoyable Shave(DFES).

You cut it off? Jim, you wasted no time on that decision. It doesn’t look bad at all. What’s the length of it now?

Look what made it in. 1900ish Superior. It came with a nice wedge blade. I stropped the blade and did two passes with it. Shaved nice. It needs some hone time but....wow first wedge shave was nice. I made a video that I will post a link to in a bit. The big ole Omega boar/ JR 176 was awesome with the Colgate cup soap.
