A British equivalent of the G Bar was produced under the name of Ever Ready. Most produced were ones
that were not Chrome Plated , but they also produce a gilt plated one- see photo.

Had another Mongoose Shave. Why do I have Two? not sure really probably listened to someone saying that the polished one Shaved better. Perhaps to does, but I find it a bit blingy, and like the understated satin finish

A pleasant enough Shave, smooth and comfortable but felt that possibly the blade for me was past its best. I am pretty certain I will be using the Proline as my blade of choice, and have acquired enough to keep me going for a while.

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: GEM PTFE
    Razor: GEM G-Bar
    Brush: JR #41 badger
    Lather: Fine Lavender
Post: Witch hazel, Fine Lavender aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Smooth shave with the G-Bar and coated blade yet again. This combination has been a real treat this month. I've been pleasantly surprised.

    Have a great weekend!

I always see you and Clint using the One Blade Genesis. I take it they are your favorite SE. Can you compare it to any other SE?

    Thanks Tom

I know you asked Mark but I will jump in. I primarily use a modified Gem PTFE blade since it last much longer than the Feather even thought the Feathers give me a touch closer shave. The shaves are as close as my Cobra Classic or General brass. However, unlike any other razor, the results require little to no skill. Just load the blade, lather and start shaving. For me it really shines on work mornings when I am rushing through the shave. The negative of the OneBlade are 1) Price 2) Requires you to use the Feather FHS blade unless you are willing to modify a Gem and 3) Can be boring since it requires no skill.

I will and do use other razors but the OneBlade is certainly one of my favorite razors.
