MMOC comparo, same routine as yesterday but with v2 MMOC with bumps, without shim. Maybe a bit more blade feel but still smooth., While I did manage a single pass ATG head shave, the fact that yesterday's v1 MMOC shave was so close may have eased the way.

I just bought a 10 pack of Stainless GEM SE blades from Walgreens.
I pulled the vault from the packaging and it has one blade on the ready to come out side and 9 blades on the used side, and the spring in the middle between them is broken.

Should I take the whole thing back...or just break it open and try the ones on the used side....I'm thinking when the spring broke the new blades just shifted sides...

Has anybody seen this kind of thing with GEM Stainless' before?

WHOA!! That's a first.

As much as curiosity says to me, "Break 'em open. They're probably fine." this isn't a product where you'd want to rely on "probably."

Agree with Tom, back to the store they go.

 

I have never seen anything like that before coming out of the factory bubble pack/cardboard packaging. I would take them back to the store and exchange them for another pack of blades.

As a user of Injector Razors I was intrigued by the Supply Single Edge Razor, and despite the cost went out
and purchased the V1. To be truthful I really struggled to get on with it, but finally on plate 3 with a Personna blade managed get a reasonable but lengthy Shave from it. In a nutshell it was far too mild to deal with my " tough need a Shave Daily" beard. After sometime, I contacted Patrick the creator of the Razor at Supply, explaining my problem. He very kindly sent me a V2 plate 3 aggressive plate at minimal cost

I immediately put it into action fitted with a Shick Proline Blade. Very smooth with lots of blade feel throughout the Shave, allowing you to chart the progress of the Shave, not at all aggressive and very forgiving.

I have now completed 7 consecutive Shaves, each one being trouble free with a Top Notch finish. I have to be honest and say the quality of finished Shave that I have attained with this Razor is better and more consistent than I get with my favourite Injectors [ confined to use of a single blade], these are Canadian E2, the PAL Injecto Matic and S/S Adjustable.

Is it worth it ? IMHO probably better value than a lot of the more expensive Modern S/S Creations going the Rounds. Certainly an option for those who like AC blades but find the head-on them too large. I find it to be very forgiving, so it might well suit those with a sensitive skin.

It’s probably just a packaging issue at the factory and the blades are likely fine. However, if the Walgreens is nearby, I would return them.

I agree with the others on this one Bird. Take them back. Even if it is just a factory hose up do you want to take the chance on it? You never know, you may get the Black Plague. Remember the Chicago Tylenol murders, where someone tampered with Tylenol bottles on store shelf's and added capsules of cyanide.

Shovelhead (round tooth version). I got no issues here, great shaver. Can't help but wonder whether the 1909 shave is much different.

SCHICK GRIP! 2-05-2018 - 1st go with these Canadian SCHICK TWIN BLADES I think there from late 80s or early 90s? Anybody know ??

I would also consider letting Personna know about the problem. Who knows, they might even send you more blades. It usually works with food products with a problem and they send a whole carton or coupons for free ones.
